Why is is that whenever there is a fight scene, the jedi always do better when there is a reason to be angry? Obi-Wan always goes ham whenever someone he loves dies, or when someone brings up something that really could anger him. The same goes for Anakin, and pretty much all the jedi except Qui-gon. Even Yoda was clearly emotional when fighting Sidious. It just seems to me that this whole entire keeping anger in check doesn't really seem to work for most.
"Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight."

Jedi get more aggressive when they're angry. It probably makes them a bit better in that fight, but it certainly makes them more likely to make offensive moves like cutting off limbs. The core of the difference between Jedi and Sith is that Sith conflate martial prowess with power (which is tied to things like aggression) while Jedi equate control with power. It takes more effort to win single skirmishes with Jedi power (i.e. balance, defense, patience) than it does with Sith power (i.e. agitation, offense, haste) - but as the Bear said, "offense sells tickets, defense wins championships" - in the long run, the Jedi's power wins out, which is why they try not to simply harness aggression every time they fight (that and the Force-specific property of anger leading to an addictive relationship with the Dark Side).

Ah Hondo, our favorite pirate. My dad and I really like his character. We loved his lines, and the VA does a great job.
Sucked to see Adi die. I may not know a lot about her personally, but she is a Jedi and thus it's always a shame to see them die.
I was wondering when Maul and Savage would enter a more master/apprentice relationship. I wish they'd have been more about being brothers, and Savage wanted it that way too. But Maul had to be a dick, as the Sith usually are.
Looking forward to Onderon next week.
Hidden/Spoiler:
I know a little about Adi Gallia, so yeah, that was sad for me beyond just a Jedi dying. In Jude Watson's "Jedi Apprentice" series, Adi Gallia and her padawan Siri Tachi frequently partner up with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan
Good season opener though. Better than last season's.
Hidden/Spoiler:
I was a little surprised with the detail they showed with the dismemberment.
Actually, was that the first humanoid dismemberment in the show?
I would have expected a black burnt stump, not the muscle and bone they showed, or not show it facing the camera at all.

I was surprised by Adi Gallia's death - especially considering how early in the episode it took place. That said, it was pretty cool, in a brutal kind of way. It was a great use of the big horns on Savage's head.

I caught a glimpse of some your guys' spoilers before watching the episode
Hidden/Spoiler:
so I was looking to see how Adi's brutal death would be like. I thought Savage was going to slice her leg off when she held her kick to his leg for a few seconds, but her actual death was indeed very painful.

I thought it might have been a reference to ANH. But yeah, very graphic nonetheless.

This episode reminded me of a minor problem I have with the show: red lasers for bad guys, and blue lasers for good guys, even if it's just temporary. :| I do like the original B1 droid voices used for the those security droids in the beginning of the episode, though. :D

Rogue Pirate Leader Guy: Hey guys, we're going to join these Sith against our boss, so make sure to keep your RED blasters on you.

Onaka: Alright boys, we are now, the protagonists! Break out the BLUE blasters!

Yeah, that kind of annoyed me too. I figured that the pirates used the better guns aboard the cargo ship Savage and Maul were on. At least, that is how, in my mind, I let them get away with it.

Funny you guys would mention the lasers because that bugged me too. Not sure why they do it like that because it's not as though the audience needs to be spoon-fed the fact that there are two different factions fighting one another.

For those of you that don't know, this was going to be the original season premiere. I think they made the right call by opening the season with "Revival." This wasn't a bad episode by any means but it would have been a dull season premiere.

I agree, arcs like this aren't really best suited to start a season, but more to come after the premier, I think it was a good call starting with revival, this episode was actually better in my opinion then revival, I was actually really hooked at the end of a war on two fronts.

It was interesting how well the episode tied in with current world events/conflicts. The allusions weren't exactly subtle, but I thought they were tastefully done.

Maybe its just me but that jedi master that was killed in the other episode, she appears in the council scene in the background of the next episode? Either though its dark, you can clearly see her. Perhaps it is possible that they switched up the episodes becuase that darth maul one would make a better season opener.

It's been previously established that any and all episodes in TCW either may or may not be in chronological order. The writers said they've been moving towards a more chronological pace, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is going to be 100% of the time. So having Adi Gallia there again would still be okay.

Because loophole.

And even if it is chronological, they could just say it's Stass Allie.

I think Era's previous post is the best explanation:

That would make sense to me.

Actually I think that's the Jedi that dies in ep III. I think they have really similiar names.

I'm excited to see a republic commando :D . It looks like there's gonna be some good episodes.
So far with the Onderon thing it's not to good. I think it's a wast of time.

:jango: :maulsaber: It's not bad. But I think the TCW needs more of just clones. The only really good episodes in season 4 that had enough clones were the ones with the 501 and Krell, and with Darth Maul and mabye Boba Fett there won't be enough of those.
