Then you should also add the detail texture.
2.) Is that what happens when you "burn" terrain?
No, the burning just asjusts the brightness, shadows and specular are enabled in the global light settings.
Also, does anyone know how to add health/ammo droids?
Browse for the odf files in data_***/Common/odf, they are called com_item_healthrecharge and weaponrecharge.

Well, the stock Yavin or Endor texture is not that blurred, so you did something wrong, either the missing detail texture or you took the lowrez texture.

In the section where you enter which texture certain terrain brushes use, there is one field for the "regular" groundtexture and another slot for a "detail" texture. It's used on stock maps on naboo, so that the stone floors are defined better and on tatooine to give a more rough sand look instead of a flattened one.

Wow. 2 compliments in a row. One more, and I'll just move on to naming the map, which I have 3/4 nominations.

I'm here to ruin this party. :maulsaber:

I think you should add in some more props, if your whole map looks like that last pic. It doesn't look bad, but if thats your whole map, it might get a bit boring. Try adding in some bunkers or more rocks like Sky's big ones.

the posts dont contradict, detailtextures are good, but they are not enough to make the ground look decent with the extremely low resoluted shipped textures (in my opinion)

If you know how, a few tunnels running under those hills might not be a bad idea...

OK, I'll try that.

Well, I tried the detail textures anyways.
SW_elite wrote:If you know how, a few tunnels running under those hills might not be a bad idea...
First, I don't know how. Second, if I did, there shouldn't be tunnels because you'd die the way I set the boundary. But maybe my next map will have a few tunnels in which you can outmaneuver the enemy. Tunnels don't suit this map.

EDIT
I won't be able to make any adjustments to the map with my ZE being the way it is. So, if everyone would try to give me four nominations to the planet that my map looks like right now, it'd be much appreciated.

AHH! That is going to lag my computer BIG time. And also I have to say, there doesn't seem to be anything defining or significant about this map. For all I can really tell, it is on Yavin and in a bush. Try adding some rocks or water and maybe some buildings or cliffs!

I'd say:

1. Needs better cover, such as rocks and mounds.

2. The terrain texture looks very odd and the pix elation needs to be less noticeable.

3. Needs to have a fun factor, like... stuff like what Dann Boeing and Mav does.

I like it though : )

I can't put anything else in there, unless I were willing to start from scratch.
