I knew it would.DarthRogueKnight wrote:RepSharpShooter?Null_1138 wrote:NOTE, I did not make this model, the creator of the ARC Rifle did. I am just converting it to a pistol and retexturing. And its not easy.
If someone could tell me who the creator is, I'd be willing to finish it.Hidden/Spoiler:
Also, if you need to do that, it'll take me about 30 seconds in XSI.

Null, can I have a few more angles of the bottom one? I'd like to try to recreate that.

Re: SketchUp Models
Old post:
EDIT2: You make a cylinder, much like a gun barrel, in Sketchup and you'd like to show that it appears deeper than it actually is by using a texture that is a gradient of the outside cylinder texture and black. You can make the texture, sure, but when you apply it to the inside of the cylinder, its off and it doesn't make the effect you want. How do you work around this?
Here's one method I think works.

Imperial Conquest-Class Carrier

As of now I'm just too lazy to post new views of it as it takes a long time to get it on photobucket and look pretty.
AV-7 Republic Self-Propelled Artillery Anti-Vehicle Gun
LAAT/c Gunship Carrier (Teth in background)
An example of one of my Christophsis Buildings.

and 3d Turntable at: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ ... c256412db0
EDIT: Not to spoil it for anyone but in my mod, all ships have interiors. You can just see a door toward the back of the hangar in my Conquest-Class Carrier Model. It may appear as a speck to the untrained eye.

Haha, scrolling up and down at the Christophsis building gives it an optical illusion.
Anyway, I finished up my paintball weapons!

Re: SketchUp Models
Haha yes that's me, Eaol from former VOS. And I love Sketchup, as I write this post, I'm modeling a Coruscant building for a Republic Commando-type mod map. Haha.
And the screen is a Kamino texture and the lens is from a rifle texture.
WHERE'S MY COOKIE???

Yeah, texture positioning is awesome, and so much easier than other modeling programs I know.

Re: SketchUp Models
A Coruscant Building. I have plenty now. This is just one, which I say it came out pretty nice for a low poly model. It's mainly a background prop.

Re: SketchUp Models
Looks nice.
Always keep in mind though that the circles in Sketchup consist of lots of edges. You can turn that down by selecting the circle/polygon tool, type the amount of edges you want it to have (5 or 6 is usually good enough for SWBFII), then press enter and then place the circle. It's something you'll only notice until you put it in XSI or something likewise.

Re: SketchUp Models
The fewer "cylinders" you have, the more edges you can afford to put on them. Of course my paintball weapons have hundreds, so they would probably be triangular prisms.mswf wrote:(5 or 6 is usually good enough for SWBFII)
There are a number of things you can do to reduce the amount of polies the shotgun uses, but the model itself looks good.
