I've had a similar problem in two of my maps and they both crash.
oh yes and, the more recent one, the one i'm quoting from here, started saying this after I changed the sky.

those have nothing to do with your map crashing. They are basically pointless lines in you log. I believe what those lines are saying is that it is trying to auto-rename the object in ZE. They don't mean anything.

aww, man, well the rest of my log is all severity 2 messages, with the exception of the MTH thing which everything has. What should I do?

well, cps don't really need control regions, do they?Oh, added in the firefly and dryice effects, but the game can't tell that they're there. Cleaning/munging now...

dang! Still can't tell that they're there. I'm taking them out.

Edit: What? It doesn't even call for them in the fx file! What's asking for those effects?
I'll have to check ZE. Yep, it's a odf, deleted from ZE and the ODF folder.

Erm, sorry, but can you check the log now? it's asking for a hardpoint, and apparently it doesn't have one, so should I just delete all instances of them?

I get the hardpoint and Replace XX with XX1 errors all the time, and it doesn't ususally cause the map to crash. :?
World creation completed to complete completion.

Basically any errors labelled Message Severity: 3 are the map crashers. Don't mind Message Severity: 2 messages. They don't really do anything to the map. Keep an eye out for the 3's though. And especially 5's. But those only happen if you really screw something up.

It wouldn't be the fireflies crashing the map. I spent a large chunk of time trying to get fireflies to work, and they never crashed my map. As for why they're being called, if you have any of the dagobah assets like the tree root, they have those effects attached to them.

If you are using custom sides, always comment them out first. If not, open Zero, save you world as another name, like ABC_backup.wld, then close. Re-open Zero and open ABC.wld, then start deleting your newest additions. Save, munge, and if it crashes, repeat.

I'm having this prob again, in a different map too (yes it keeps happening). In these new maps I've been adding most of my things in the base layer, recently. Is there a limit or something for objects in the base layer? I'm just trying to find a corellation so I can crush this reaccurring problem.

Fix your SoldierAnimation memory pool errors. I think the "trying to replace" error occurs when you have objects with the same names, but that is just a guess.
