Re: The Old Republic - Still alive
Thanks for the nice comments guys, they mean a lot.
Now please, tell me if you would like to have the first release really soon but without vehicles\tanks. If so the release will be like this week but if more people want the vehicles on the v.1 this will take more time. Let me know in your comments.
Anyway here you have other pics:

Re: The Old Republic - Question for you guys! p.12
Wow, looking good!
1. As a player, I would like a release with vehicles.
2. As a fellow modder, I would advise you to release as soon as possible, frequent releases keeps your fans happy.
So honestly, either way would be fine with me, I'm okay with waiting for good mods like this one, no need to rush.

Re: The Old Republic - Question for you guys! p.12
I think it really depends on the map, because you could enjoy maps like Death Star and Coruscant without vehicles, but Geonosis and Hoth would be lost without them.
I see no harm in releasing a 'public beta' with no vehicles and making the 'official' release one with vehicles in it. But that's just my opinion. You should release the mod as you see fit, because it's all your hard work, we're just here enjoying the pictures!

I like when a mod is polished sides, localizations, icons, sounds) and it worth the wait for the vehicles. So i would wait for the vehicles for a v1. Good luck
.
EDIT: By the way, i sent you a file that could help you polish the mod even more

I like the public beta idea. Us gametoasters can give you feedback as modders, then, when the mod is uploaded on SWBFFiles (with vehicles) it'll be played by a wider audience, and will receive excellent reviews from happy fans, and the mod will be even better due to the constructive feedback provided by gametoasters. That, and I just want to get my greedy little mits on this mod as soon as possible.

Me too.yuke5 wrote:I like the public beta idea.
But do not rush if some fix need to be done because it would be bad to have bugs in a mod that looks so good and complete.

Re: The Old Republic - Question for you guys! p.12
You could release a slightly trimmed down version of the mod with support for just a few infantry-only maps - for example, Death Star, Mos Eisley, Tantive IV, and Kamino. That way you can get your work out there, get good feedback, and have an audience that is happy with a mod that feels "complete," even if it is scaled down from the end product.
As a side note: the pictures look great! I'm glad to see you're doing so well, even after your apparent setbacks.

I'm fine without vehicles. I'm not sure the mod needs them.

This is basically how I feel, but you should also maintain your artistic integrity (for a game mod of all things) and release it how you'd like. Eggman's idea seems reasonable to me as well!yuke5 wrote: I just want to get my greedy little mits on this mod as soon as possible.
Whatever you do I'm thoroughly excited for this release!
As an aside: In one of your earlier builds you said you had plugged the mod into some mod maps made by community members, is that something you're going to be doing for a later release, or are you releasing the codes so that map makers can do that themselves?

Nice idea, I think I'll follow your advice. Thanks Eggman.Eggman wrote:You could release a slightly trimmed down version of the mod with support for just a few infantry-only maps - for example, Death Star, Mos Eisley, Tantive IV, and Kamino. Maybe both but for a later release I think.AirspeedRedux wrote:As an aside: In one of your earlier builds you said you had plugged the mod into some mod maps made by community members, is that something you're going to be doing for a later release, or are you releasing the codes so that map makers can do that themselves?
Thanks to all the people that are following this topic.

Re: The Old Republic - New Icon & Era name
Now, Delta, when you talk about 'vehicles', do you mean the Old Republic walker like this?
And a speeder like this?
Or just reskinned stock vehicles?
Great work, though. Excited for release.
Don't know if you said stuff about the vehicles or not, kind of not mentally here in the mornings.

You know, those might as well just be reskinned stock vehicles.

Re: The Old Republic - New Icon & Era name
Yeah man, that is really freaking me out. Did it two times and still no changes.Lephenix wrote:Now try to get the CP icons to work.
But I want to get it working.
You know mate, I can't model new vehicles, so I will use both stock or community-made reskinned.RevanSithLord wrote:Now, Delta, when you talk about 'vehicles'...
Anyway I think it's time to show some minor changes that I have done since previous version(s).
These changes involve mainly the imperial side that has been reviewed.
The imperial trooper has a different model now, I think it looks better.
It uses the ep3 heavytrooper model than the stormtrooper one.

I know it sounds odd but trust me, they are cool and unique as they are (I will show you their set up later).
Also many of you will be so happy to know that the jedi drone is not part of this mod anymore.
More news incoming.

Re: The Old Republic - New pics of the "updates"
Thanks for clarifying, I got caught up in excitement. I actually don't mind infantry-only for awhile.
Great updates and keep up the fabulous work!
