How to create models in XSI and other 3D applications and make them work in Battlefront 1 & 2. Post models, tips for application usage and share anything XSI, 3DMax, SketchUp, etc.

Front view.
Lights on the side which will glow when it's done.
Mr. Clone enjoys a well earned rest.
Nice! Put that in DMI as a 3-person vehhicle with no weapons or ability to move, each peson using different brand-new anims, and BAM it's perfect.
Off-topic: How'd you change the background color of XSI? Don't make fun of me 'bout that question [hugelie]I'm not a modeler, so I wouldn't know.[/hugelie]

Not to be mean or... Wait, this is your first, right? My best player model was a Mr. Peanut model, and it's horrible. This one is really good for a start.
Yeah, it is my first proper go at character modelling. I still have to fix the anatomy (Specially the legs, they are quite aweful). For being an early stage, I dig it.
Office Building w/ Working Elevator (Untextured, in need of a good texturer):
Observatory w/ working elevator (In need of new, good textures):
As I just said, I need some good textures. As you can see in my observatory and arena from pg. 21, I have major problems about using the same texture repetetively.
EDIT: I'm saying this here to see if it's okay w/ FragMe! and Caleb first, and I think I'm gonna retexture the Observatory using their houses' textures.
Okay, this is how it looks for now. The side is fairly okay, when you keep mind that I could not find any good photographs to use for my rotoscoping. I am getting a scanner this summer, so I can draw models and simply use them in XSI. That will be brilliant - this way I'll be able to brush up my drawing skills!

Fine with me they were just textures found on the web, as a matter of fact here is a link to some good brick and wood textures just need to convert them to tga if they aren't already and make sure they are a power of 2 size wise
@YJJ if you look in the Pepperland WIP you will see a earlier picture of what Manderek is talking about (actually I typed a more longer answer earlier but it seems to have not made it and is now floating around the ether)
Thanks Frag! I really like those, usually the textures I find on Google stick. The best I've ever found id the metal texture I always use.
Observatory then:
Observatory now:
Hmmmmmm... which is better? If you say the first one, I'm showing you the interior texture. THEN you decide.

Fluffy_the_ic, I'd deffo pick the second one. It looks way better than the first one, but it looks too Medieval. I'd go for a more modern brick image if I were you.

Gotcha. I just started to think that, too. I personnaly like rocks, but bricks do look better. But, the only bricks that came with their pack looked too Christmas-y because of the bottom of the texture.
YouJediJunkie wrote:Grab a camera and get some photos!
Or, you could always go to cgtextures.com or whatever that site is called...
Well, I noticed another, better, non-christmasy brick texture, as well as the joys and realism of spatial projection!

Wow that thing looks familiar...Deja vu...
All these things look so good, I wonder if Ill ever be able to get that advanced lol right now Im having trouble making a wall with a door..(althought its cuz the tutorial was made for XSI Foundation...)
