Want to know about a game? Should we buy that new upcoming release? Post your thoughts on new games and ones you have...so others can know whether to buy it or not! All non-SWBF, non-modding topics should go here.
I would say it's a day 1 rental with hopes of buying, but I never get to play anything on Day 1. I'll probably go pick up my copy of Halo: Reach day 1 and not even get to touch it until the weekend. Still, if this one is just as fun as the first I'll end up buying it. I owned the first one on disc and bought all the DLC, and recently I gave the disc to my brother-in-law and bought the 360 Games on Demand version so I can access it on the fly.
What's really going to get me to buy this though?
Saber styles. It showed two sabers in one demo. Can I choose to have just one? What about a staff?
Clothes. Nowadays an story-only adventure game needs lots of options, and one of those is how your character looks. ALL previous clothing should be included, and the ability to use TFU1 skin packs would be awesome.
DLC - With a different protagonist. I love Starkiller as a character, but I want a go-round as Luke Skywalker in the New Jedi Order days. I figure he was probably as powerful as Starkiller by then.
VS mode for 360/PC/PS3. There's no reason not to include it. Revenge of the Sith on PS2/Xbox had it, and they didn't touch the controls for VS mode. All they need is to make it so you can select two characters and provide a handful of arenas. Oh, online play would be great too. (I'm very much okay if this is paid DLC - I realize it's outside of the game's scope)
Cooperative DLC, even if it's over Xbox Live only. Imagine being four jedi during the Clone Wars with your buddies, each of you having Unleashed (or not) force powers. Yeah, I could see myself playing coop missions over and over.
Exactly what I was thinking. And Tean, I was thinking that exact same thing about Luke when the first one came out. Why is Starkiller the only Jedi/Sith/Force user that is THIS powerful when using the force? As for the Jedi Order 66 thing, I doubt there will be a co-op mode (though I would love one dearly), but a modded version of the game to do that even in single player would be fantastic.

Why is this a hang-up for people? Clearly this is game mechanics over canon - just like many other video games. Darth Vader did a lot of stuff in TFU gameplay that he never did in the movies, and so did the Emperor (and, I assume, an untrained Luke Skywalker was similarly powerful in the DLC).
Interesting video... looks as though they have used TESB as a big influence on the sequel. Boba Fett, and Yoda both have pivotal roles in the story, and Starkiller has a similar vision on Dagobah like Luke's vision of Vader in the cave. Although it's good the developers are using this influence probably to help sales, I think they should try to be a bit more original, as it's a bit too obvious to use the original trilogy as a source.

These days, they slam Mandalorians and Fetts in all stories and games. I mean yes, they are really cool, but they kinda lost their "coolness" and mystery cos they appear everywhere now.
Wii multiplayer looks a lot better this time around (although I did enjoy the first version's multiplayer, this one supports more people and looks a little more intuitive). If you pay attention to the second video, you'll learn that the big monster and the arena we saw in the trailer are apparently on Cato Nemoidia (and likewise we can assume that's a destination in the game).
dont worry, only the staff can^^
it doesnt look bad although im not quite shure if the new style will work alright....especially the battlefootages reminded me too much of a wii-game. i kinda liked the older style better
and about the being too strong: judging from the video about the combat system they didnt have many new ideas. crushing walkers to a cube has been done before and an "even stronger unleashing fo the force" too
I do like the fact they now have dismemberment, just makes it a whole lot more real, and the new mind trick looks to be a game strategy where you can get Storm Troopers to fight amongst themselves, and also get enemies to fight for your character.
Edit: @Nova Hawk - I do agree with you there, it would have been better if they gave you a choice instead of having to use the double saber throughout the game.
