I don't think AO shows up ingame though, to my knowledge anyways, and since I'm using MS3D, I don't have any rendering capabilities. The Nasal Abyss wrote:If all of the pieces are using unique texture space you could do an ambient occlusion render to give the texture more depth!
I could probably throw it in XSI to render, but I'm not experienced enough with XSI to do that yet.
Why thank you! You are awesome!SpartanA259 wrote:That is awesome.

If you render an AO Map that fits over the UV's of the model, you can just paste the AO map over the original texture using the multiply filter.

Hey everyone, thought I would do a mini-update.
I decided to add in some new music for BF3, as I love John Williams, but a little variety can't hurt.
Two Steps From HeII - The Descending Storm
Two Steps From HeII - The Summoning (No Choir)
Two Steps From HeII - Interceptors Duel
Two Steps From HeII doesn't mind when people use their music, as long as you give them credit and it is not for profit. Not that anyone seems to care about sound/music copyrights in mods.
These are just a couple I have decided upon for now. You can kinda see what I'm going for. If anyone has any ideas, I will listen to it and decide if I want it in BF3. I will have the final say on what gets in and what doesn't.

Some custom music would be even better. I'm sure you could find someone who likes to make fan music; there's plenty of them on the Internet.
This is an awesome mod. My only complaint might be with your choice of changing the P0 Dark trooper to a Phase II --- last I remember, P2 darktroops had armor made of phrik and massacred a planetary colony without even trying.

That may be a bit overkill, but I'll keep it in mind.[TFA]Padawan_Fighter wrote:Some custom music would be even better. I'm sure you could find someone who likes to make fan music; there's plenty of them on the Internet.

I see. Actually, it's my fault. I always thought the BF2 Darktrooper was a phase 2. My mistake.
I'll have to think about this for awhile.

They were P2, originally. Until the Force Unleashed Campaign Guide came out in September of 2008.THEWULFMAN wrote:I see. Actually, it's my fault. I always thought the BF2 Darktrooper was a phase 2. My mistake.

Prior to that, I remember when my cousin and I first looked up Dark Troopers on wookiepedia because they were are favorite units. We found out there were three phases (no phase 0) and wookiepedia listed the ones in SWBF and SWBF2 as Phase 2 because they were armed in the same way: blast cannons in SWBF and arc casters in SWBF2.The Phase Zero Dark Troopers, first introduced in The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide were most likely created to explain the appearance of cyborg dark troopers in Star Wars: Battlefront games
The Phase II dark trooper was equipped with the external elements—the suit, a jump pack, and an assault cannon capable of firing 400 plasma shells and 20 missiles without reloading. They were also armed with the deadly ARC Caster, which shoots out powerful bolts of electricity

Yeah I noticed that. Considering that my BF3 is supposed to have been made in 2006, let's just say that they are still Phase 2.Twilight_Warrior wrote:They were P2, originally. But Wookieepedia DOES have an article on P0 dark troopers :\Twilight_Warrior wrote: Prior to that, I remember when my cousin and I first looked up Dark Troopers on wookiepedia because they were are favorite units. why don't you make a new space map that isn't just destroy key components; you should be able to go up to the bridge, and maby even rotate the entire ship (if its possible.)

While we're on the subject of capital ships, I always found it incredibly dumb to have vital ship components *RIGHT THERE* when you get to the hangar.

No thanks.

I'll be honest, I haven't thought about capitol ships in BF3 a lot, I have been focusing on the fighters. I do agree with you, so I'll give it some thought.
Edit: I added a poll. I wanted to ask the general public what planets they would be most interested in seeing new maps made for. Choose as many or as few as you want. I have chosen a couple planets to be added to the mod already, they will not be on the list. This also does not count re-done stock maps. 1 map per planet, yes it would be nice to have 2 per like in BF1 but it's not going to happen, I want this done in my lifetime thank you very much.

I voted for Cado Nemodia, it's a cool planet overall, and just about any aspect of it is interesting, from its swamps to its bridge cities.

Re: [WIP] The Battlefront 3 Mod [Poll added page 6 10/19/11]
The main one I wanted to see was Cato Neimoidia, but I chose a few others. I personally think Cato Neimoidia would be unique as I don't remember seeing any maps for it in the time of me playing and installing mods for BF2. And Yuke5 is right...it's a cool planet overall and many aspects of it are interesting. Aside from ROTS and TCW (S2E04), I haven't seen much else about it about the planet and I think it needs a bit more love.
Just my thoughts.
Just my thoughts.

Re: [WIP] The Battlefront 3 Mod [Poll added page 6 10/19/11]
okay, i can say that Cato Neimoidia is agreat world and that i already have drawn a possible layout which include the main aspects of Cato we seen in ROTS ,TFUII and a little of TCW. i already started with the main bridge, but left this project. i asked wulf if we do this map together, but he has to decide. so it is possible that GT maybe will have a Cato Neimoidia map in future, but i can´t promise this.

I'm voting for Thyferra. and I'm voting here 'cause the poll doesn't work for me. Mostly because no one's done it before.

Re: [WIP] The Battlefront 3 Mod [Poll added page 6 10/19/11]
I vote for only one map, and that is Cato Nemoidia. The reason I only chose one is that to make Cato Nemoidia as awesome as it could be, it will take a lot of work. I personally would prefer one of the bridges, but I think we can all agree that we would prefer one very well done map never seen before, rather than a few sloppier maps Not to say that your work is sloppy!

I also chose Thyferra as a second choice for that very reason.ShadowWing wrote:I'm voting for Thyferra. and I'm voting here 'cause the poll doesn't work for me. Mostly because no one's done it before.
