Campaign Order
I'd like to hear your opinions on how the BF1 and BF2 campaign should be ordered. There are several missions that appear to be fought during the same time frame but are separated significantly. This brings up minor problems in the canon order of the missions. Should they be left as they are or re-organized to better fit the Star Wars timeline?

Re: Campaign Chronological Order
Personally I've always wanted the BF1 campaign offered as a totally separate campaign.
BTW, it's canon with one N. The cannon with two Ns is what pirates use
(sorry, I'm a grammar nazi)

The only problem I foresee is that the campaign comes up as a list. (Correct me if I am wrong) I'm not sure if there is a way to separate them.

Re: Campaign Chronological Order
Heh, I always forget that PC players don't get free reign of the entire game since it would cause conflicting mods. It's possible, but doing so requires a new shell.lvl amongst a few other minor things. I checked into this for the Xbox mod but never went anywhere with it.

Re: Campaign Chronological Order
Bespin was liberated after the Battle of Endor, not before. Rogue Squadron did do a raid on the Tibanna tanks prior to Endor but the city was not liberated at this time.
The developers just wanted Endor to be last in the campaign, more epic that way.

Re: Campaign Chronological Order
I took a look at SWBFI Wookieepedia, they listed the campaign missions. There are multiple missions that happen at the same time and as you stated, the battle Liberation of Cloud City happened after the Battle of Endor but they list it as happening before?
As for SWBFII there are not timeline listings. I have no idea what to do at this point if I were to list them chronologically. Why isn't all the battle information listed on Wookieepedia?
Battle of Grassy Plains (32 BBY)
Rebellion on Theed (32 BBY)
Aggressive Negotiations (28 BBY)
The Battle of Geonosis (22 BBY)
Assault on Kamino (22 BBY)
Mountaintop Defenses (22 BBY)
The Battle of Kashyyyk (19 BBY)
Siege of Mos Eisley (0 BBY)
Sabotage at Rhen Var (0 BBY)
Assault on Yavin 4 (0 BBY)
Fall of Yavin 4 (0 ABY)
The Battle of Hoth (3 ABY)
Liberation of Cloud City (3 ABY)
Battle in the Clouds (4 ABY)
The Battle of Endor (4 ABY)

Re: Campaign Order
Although I voted for chronological order, I have to agree with Teancum that it'd be great to see them as two separate campaigns.

Re: Campaign Order
Mk, so I'll attempt to make them separate from one another but if that is not possible. Go chronological. (I realize that 71% say chronological and only 29% say separate but I guess I can't please everyone on this)
The assets will be released, in other words you can organize them how you'd like them on your own if you'd like.
Edit: Or maybe....I can do both? Maybe even release the variant of the conversion without the campaign. Two or three versions of this mod to please everyone. Hmmmm. That's definitely something to consider. I'll get back to you guys on that matter.

Re: Campaign Order
Interesting setup, though the battlefront 1 campaign wasn't as fleshed out as battlefront II. Maybe add some kind of spice to it?

Re: Campaign Order
Ya you're right about that. I played through it multiple times now. Very simple objectives like, kill this, or destroy that. There were far more objectives in the SWBFII campaign. I will be adding the SWBF1 sides as an exclusive for the SWBF1 campaign. If we come up with any ideas to make the missions more interesting I'll let you know. Re: Campaign Order
That is an understatement. The SWBF1 campaign missions were just basic conquest. Destroying anything was completely optional and could be done in regular Instant Action.Glitch25 wrote:Ya you're right about that. I played through it multiple times now. Re: Campaign Order
Yep. The only difference with the campaign missions were a few unit changes (Ex: Naboo only had colorless battle droid units) indigenous species for primary enemies like the Wookies or Gungans, and a few maps where they layout was changed or new props were added (Ex: Fambaa and Sheild Generator)AQT wrote:That is an understatement. Re: Campaign Order
The campaign also used "Historical" vehicle spawns. These were things like the Kaadu or the Cloud City cars. You set the spawns up in ZeroEdit, then set IsHistorical() or whatever the verb was in the mission lua.

Re: Campaign Order
They activate if SetHistorical(1) is set in the lua. They don't have to be campaign specific. Haven't seen it used in SWBF2 yet.

Re: Campaign Order
We're probably going to be doing both Separate and Chronological Campaign versions of the mod. The most difficult part will be ordering the missions Chronological due to the fact that Wookieepedia does not have the necessary information to do so. We do have the time periods for most of the SWBFI missions but there is conflicting information on the site. Most of the SWBFII mission dates are not listed, I have no idea how I will order those.
