Tricky Localization Job
I have read the tuts, and looked through posts, and I know HOW to localize for my new maps... BUT, formy Weapon Expansions, all I did was alter the SIDEs themselves seprate from any LUA or map. I used current unit names to trick the game into drawing those units instead of the normal ones.
I.E. I put a SBD information into the ALL_INF_SOLDIER so that when the game calls on the soldier it gets all my SBD info.
However... Localizations seen to be either tied into the maps themselves... into a overall archive, or also in the SIDE .lvl
Are localizatins a combination of all three or one inparticular, and is it possible to relocalize my weapon expansion mods?
Cause the SBD is called "Rebel Soldier" and my droideka is called "Wookie Smuggler" lol and my heros are still called Dooku/Mace and Luke/Vader and they don't even resemble those folks...

RE: Tricky Localization Job
Could you re-formulate your request in "easy-to-understand" words, please ?...
(I'm not sure to understand properly what you ask here.)

Why didn't you say that earlier, OOM' ?
Default localizations are stored in a file named "core.lvl". (You'll find it in "Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\Data\_LVL_PC") It contains localization keys of all shipped maps and sides, etc...
For custom maps, those keys are stored in a file of the same name, located in "Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\AddOn\[modid]\Data\_lvl_pc".
Hope it helps...

Hrm... SO assuming I create a map using all four of my new sides... and relocalize ALL the units and weapons... so that they are propperly named in the map, I can then take the core.lvl and overwrite the standard one?
Or is there more than just localizations in the core .lvl?

P.S. I need to OVERWRITE the current default localizations.

alrighty.. these are the GCW ones as the CW ones are basically ok as is.
EP3 Imps
StormTrooper ---> 501st Trooper
ShockTrooper ---> Shocktrooper
TIE Pilot ---> 121st Assault Trooper
Scout Trooper ---> BARC Scout
Dark Trooper ---> Commando
CIS Rebs
Rebel Soldier ---> Superbattle Droid
Rebel Vanguard ---> Assault Droid
Rebel Pilot ---> Droid Pilot
Rebel Marksman ---> Security Droid
Wookie Smuggler ---> Droideka
After those are all named properly we can mess with heros... for now I need just basic units fixed

StormTrooper -> 501st Trooper : The name you requested is too long : You must choose another one !
ShockTrooper -> Shocktrooper : What's the difference ?
TIE Pilot -> 121st Assault Trooper : The name you requested is too long : You must choose another one !
Scout Trooper -> BARC Scout : Done
Dark Trooper -> Commando : Done
Rebel Soldier -> Superbattle Droid : The name you requested is too long : You must choose another one !

Rebel Marksman -> Security Droid : Done
Wookie Smuggler -> Droideka : Done
I've made a first tweaked version of "core.lvl". You'll find it here. You just have to extract it in the "Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\Data\_LVL_PC" directory. Of course, do not forget to make a back-up of the original "core.lvl" file, first !
