Could you please be a bit more specific?

What were you localizing and i what location did you save it. Also, in the modtools it has the units scripted name show up if its not localized. For example, without localization the republic trooper would show up as rep_inf_rifleman in the modtools. Is that what shows up in your modtools or the proper localization?

You have to make sure you localize to the right path, otherwise it wont work.

You have to do it for all the languages. There's a drop down control right below where you enter the text.

Also, if I remember correctly, you need to check the Common folder's checkbox as well as Localize in VM for it to munge the localization.

You probably have the UK english version, which has seperate localization to the US, not really sure why as everything is spelt practically identically in both languages and nobody really would care if they did.

i normally just copy and paste the same name that i used in the English version. just select a version in the list and paste your name into the box below the main one, which should be greyed out.

For the key, you don't need to make a new one, just the one you used for the english localization. If you want it in multiple maps, i think it involves loading a custom core.lvl in each of the new maps, using the core file from the map with the localization.

So put something like ReadDataFile("dc:core.lvl") in you lua. I think that is wrong, so could somebody please correct me? to use it in the other maps just replace the core.lvl already in there with your localized one...
