I posted a particle editor update to my server - maybe this will help. I'm not sure what the correct configuration needs to be for the one that shipped with the bf2 tools, we didn't use that one as far as I know. So I posted one that if you extract it to your toolsfl folder should be set up to run. It runs for me at least.

I don't see where you exactly extracted the new updated PE in the toolsfl...
I don't have the mod Tools currently installed here at school - so I can't tell you where I'd say you should've posted the PE to - but as far as I can see that's not a toolsfl folder
Do what i posted before and the blocks will go away, you need the munged .fx and .tga files in the munged folder for the .fx tool to be able to read the textures.
sorry to hijack a topic but i thought i will ask a question here rather than make my own topic. anyway the question is: when i open a .fx file its fine on the ones i have opened but not fire ones. there is nothing there..
1. PE doesn't say "cannot read core.lvl" anymore
2. The fx are blocky, even though all the files are properly put together (unless I'm missing some minute thing)
3. It gives an error after exiting
4. the default PE won't even boot up, only that customized one will work

1: thats good and normal
2: what files are you coping, from where, and to where?
3: that sometimes happens
4: thats normal
PS: Wal, thats also normal for some effects to not work in PE, like the Droideka shield.
I tried out many of the .fx files, I first tried running it from the common/ fx folder, that didn't work, then I put them all into the munged file, and it still didn't work....
