Dual Pistols?
Ok, I've been scouring the released assets for years, and I searched several different things.
How do I make an ODF for dual pistols?
EDIT: Oh, btw, I do know that making an Aayla-esque ODF is obsolete, but I'm making a Commander Bly unit and if I used the Addon MSH technique, it would look wierd when he switched to his rifle.

Re: Dual Pistols?
skelltor is right, there is no known way to let the left weapons disappear when weapons are switched

Re: Dual Pistols?
Isn't he asking how to set up the odf's, not that the left pistol stays? Because I don't really think thats going to help him with his problem, no offense.

Re: Dual Pistols?
No, judging from his edit I think he wants to know how to make the second pistol disappear.

Re: Dual Pistols?
I think he already has the pistol assets, he just doesn't know how to make the odf's. All your link does is show the dl for msh's, not odf's.

Re: Dual Pistols?
Lol there really aren't any .odfs.
Anyway the readmes inside should tell u how to get em in-game.
But since we can assume that he alrdy has the assets, I'll break down the quick instructions inside the readme into better understandables.
From the "How to get them in-game" section of the readme:
1. create a new animset, once again the tut to that is in the modtools under documentations. If they tell u about jeedai*s u should be able to implement the technique even with guns
2.Munge the anim set to ur side, u should know what this means
3. Is also a self explanatory step
4. This too.
5. To get a gun to shoot 2 lazers, check out the droideka's weapon .odf and implement the proper .odf lines
6. Munge ur world and hope that his left arm can hold another gun while aiming

Re: Dual Pistols?
this is from the droideka units effect. Surely it is somewhere here.PitchLimits = "-25.0 25.0"
YawLimits = "-40.0 40.0"
AimerYawLimits = "-40.0 40.0"
AimerPitchLimits = "-25 25"
AimerNodeName = "hp_gun_1"
FireOutsideLimits = "1"
NextAimer = "-"
AimerYawLimits = "-40.0 40.0"
AimerPitchLimits = "-25 25"
AimerNodeName = "hp_gun_2"
FireOutsideLimits = "1"

Re: Dual Pistols?
Protip: If you're trying to get something to work for a unit, and your advice starts with "check out the droideka...", then stop there and start over.CodaRez wrote:5. To get a gun to shoot 2 lazers, check out the droideka's weapon .odf and implement the proper .odf lines
The droideka acts like a vehicle (and so do its weapons act like vehicle weapons). You can't fire from multiple hardpoints on a unit. The trick is just making it look like two shots - use a couple ShotPatternPitchYaw lines to adjust the vector of the outgoing ordnance (like in a bowcaster .odf).
