Re: The Final Frontier
Yeah, visually, maybe different, but anatomically.....they're the same. So I personally think as far as features go, the picture shouldn't matter. As for the clothes, I think I might be seeing where you're going. If I can get some reference pictures of ENT Klingons for you, then I will. :p

Re: The Final Frontier
Sorry...but eh....you're somewhat right in the anatomically correct. They didn't have the ridges in TOS, so OBVIOUSLY they never had in in ENT either.

I do not think it is quite as obvious as you believe.[TFA]Padawan_Fighter wrote:They didn't have the ridges in TOS, so OBVIOUSLY they never had in in ENT either.

hehehehehe.
That's true. Klingons are different on ENT and after ENT.

Okay...well, Klingon or no, we're going to need new models for the sides. The stock characters just don't work.

Re: The Final Frontier
Yeah, but this is impossible. I can't skin an Archer onto a Han because the texture spots are messed up. And I can't skin him onto a Luke because the lighting messed up. So the only solution is to make a new model.

Luke is the only Jedi model I could find that will fit an Archer-like model. But, I cant do it because the lighting messes up.

Re: The Final Frontier
Annnnnd silence, heh. I do wish I could help, but my modding abilities are in their infancy. I suppose I'll try to help at least a little bit on this thread instead. So with regards to the Klingons - it's important to remember that Enterprise was a weekly TV series, and weekly shows try to save money at all costs (The Original Series once used an Enterprise serving tray as a Romulan wall decoration). So in all likelihood, TNG/DS9/Voyager costumes were reused, with no more than minor alterations, in Enterprise.
In summary: it would quite probably be alright to use costumes of 24th century Klingons to represent those from the 22nd.

Re: The Final Frontier
Thanks! I have good news for everyone (that likes our mod)!
Sadly, one of the best mods for HL2: Enterprise: TCW is closing its doors. But the good news are: They are realesing their models to public use, so we'll have top quality models on our maps. And the beta is closer. http://www.moddb.com/mods/star-trek-ent ... -of-an-era
Now we're searching someone that helps us to convert all models/textures!
Thanks!

Re: The Final Frontier
God has given us a blessing.
Now we just need to find out what the format of the models are, and see if we can't convert them.

Hate to be a downer, but most of those models have WAAAY too many polies to work well in battlefront.

Re: The Final Frontier
Not only that, but what's the point of making a total conversion if you're just going to assimilate (pun intended) a whole bunch of other teams' work? Any old joe can just use a bunch of assets they didn't make.DarthRogueKnight wrote:Hate to be a downer, but most of those models have WAAAY too many polies to work well in battlefront.

Re: The Final Frontier
1: We're not making a total conversion out of those assets. We just need the unit assets, and maybe even the weapons. Everything else is homemade.
2: Nobody ever really WANTED to ever MAKE models for the sides, not even a Jonathan Archer model. This is the only thing we have, or at least, about to have.

Re: The Final Frontier
Then - and not to be a jerk about this - why are you doing a total conversion? This could just be my opinion, but the whole reason for doing something like this is to either create something totally new visually or to create something new on a gameplay front. Since you've shown no plans to make a different kind of gameplay, I can only assume your goal is to do a visual conversion - and if that's your goal, saying "well we want to do it but we don't want to make skins/models" seems a bit counterintuitive.[TFA]Padawan_Fighter wrote:Nobody ever really WANTED to ever MAKE models for the sides, not even a Jonathan Archer model. Re: The Final Frontier
Allow me to say it clearly.
WE would like to make models, but frankly, WE don't have the knowledge to do so, so WE would like it if SOMEONE with the proper knowledge of modeling, could MAKE ONE. but it seems, NOBODY wants to do that. so THIS is basically the ONLY thing we can get right now.
