Textures too dark ingame

Post by SpartanA259 »

Ok so I exported my new model with its textures perfectly fine in XSI. When I opened it up in StarWars Battlefront Viewer the texture was kind of messed up. I then put the model ingame and it turned black. At the end of the munge I got two errors. Also im using XSI 7.5 and MshEx_beta3.

That is most likely your problem. The texture has to be a power of 2 (ie. 256, 512).

Do you have a directional light anywhere in your map?

It's a directional light, right, and not just the sun FX? I'd also make sure it's casting specular and shadows, since, you know, suns typically do that. :P

EDIT:

Otherwise, then you either should increase the TGA's brightness (and contrast) or increase the value of the diffuse colors if you have the XSI ZE Tools.

Yep its a directional light and it does cast shadows. I also forgot the model is kind of invisible in Zero Editor.

Fix this problem first then see what happens

Open the file in XSI with the revised and re-export it. You may have to check the UVs again.
XSI will rescale to the changed sized but it may not be perfect.
