You should see some of the KOTOR models he made, then. Also, Gogie, it's good to hear from somebody who disappears then reappears every so often.GangsterJawa wrote:Dude, You really need to get bored more often!

That's incredible, I always enjoy looking at your models.
(I especially love how much detail you put into the interior of that model, with Darth Vader sitting there and such

Wow, that's very nice. I like it quite a lot. If you ever release it I'll definately use it in my next version of platform-proof Tak Base.

Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread v3.0
Nice texture Mav, its a bit too mono-toned though. The textured in Paneling is really nice, but the physical edges of the model look to mismatched from the rendered clouds you used in the texture. I'd soften them up a little with scratch marks.
Make a new layer, set it to screen, at 20-30% opacity, then use a rough brush to do scratch detailing on edges and raised surfaces. Then for grunge/grime you could use a new layer set to normal at 30-50% opacity and a rough brush, then put grunge/grime in depressed areas where it would be likely to collect in.
Generic Large Government/Office Building- UV'ed, gonna start dismantling parts of a duplicate to make a destroyed version for the Fallout Mod.

And a Power Armor Update, this is the first full on character texture I've painted so its going kinda slow, just have to detail a few more parts and add some grunge/grime and paint/decals that you would find on armor.

EPIC WIN. Seriously, you have major skill at texturing. Even if it's taking forever, it's still awesomesauce.

It looks good, but most of the texture detail comes from baking an (occlusion?) map onto his texture (although there are some notable borders at edges on the chest). It might look nice to apply some sort of semitransparent gradient over the top to give it a more metallic sheen.fai222 wrote:o.O You got some real talent at texturing! Do you use photoshop?

Very simple model edit (two models actually): a different crashed LAAT. Pic is in mesh viewer, will post pic of it in XSI if necessary (assuming doesn't need wireframes sits an edited + imported model?):

The models I made out of boredom and I used as a POTD.
I think it looks better as a blender render rather than ingame. The stormtroopers are imported but the rest I did myself.
