been having a bit of a bad time with this map.It`s been freezing a couple of minutes into playing the level.I have been back tracking what I have done to this map and it looks like the SSD is the item giving me the problem.

I can live without that, the tunnel run is the main thing I want to play with!

Maybe just make it a part of the dome/skybox? It was never terribly close into the actual battle anyway.

Maybe put some turbolasers in the tunnel to stop fighters from destroyin the reactor as the a.i would not be that clever as to intercept the fighters moving in to destroy the reactor-----can't wait to fly in the tunnel. :dstar:

I don't know why it would be crashing the map. However, I did notice that when I munged my map I was given a collision error - the option file does state "-nocollision". Oh well.

I have been taking out all the things added last week bit by bit until the game stopped crashing and the everything I removed had no effect then I removed the SSD and so far the game has been fine.How would I go about turning the SSD into a dome object because I feel it would add some more atmosphere to the map.

I don't know... I probably would have already if I knew. Did you get a collision error, somewhere along the lines of
SomeDigitRubbish WARNING!!! ssd.msh has x vertices and NO collision geometry! Will be slow...
? That might be the problem, although I haven't had it crash my game. Maybe I'll send you some different versions, try them out, because if it doesn't crash my game, I can't tell if it will crash yours.

Isnt no collision geometry essential other wise flying into the deathstar would be impossible? if it had collision geometry you would crash and die... i think

Is there a way of adapting Staiger00's method of "loads of AIs" to space maps ?
If there is one, I think I'd best to do so for this is certainly a great but also big map.

I would love the have alot fighters flying around the map,and at the moment I am trying to work out the paths so that they try to fly into the Death Star

not had much time last week to work on this map.I have had to re think one of the tunnels and trying to get the AI to fly into the tunnels.They don`t at the moment,but they do go near it.Also I have been trying to get some light effects in the tunnels but I don`t seemed to have mastered that yet.Cockpits,couldn`t get them to work in my first Death Star map and not even tried on this one.

Sry if this was said b4 but will u be able to make some of the DD II not there like in the movies? (Doesnt need to be detailed or even close to detailed like the movies)

I dont think he's going to make it VERY detailed like the movies, he's just making it alot more fun and kick*** :D
