You mean the circle? I don't know, just a trademark, I guess. You know how architects blueprint houses with some sort of signature feature.

Maybe for an idea, you could build a custom commandpost holoprojector in that circle. Then you could make the building a commandpost :P ...

I have a slightly offtopic question: I'm making some tatooine buildings in sketchup, but I can't find good textures. Since some others in this topic were working on tatooine props I thought I could try asking here. (already searched gametoast + filefront thoroughly)
EDIT:Already fixed, had another look at CG textures

Yes, I worked on the Tatooine buildings. To get the texture from BF2 (assuming you have the mod tools: get it here) into Sketchup, select the Paint tool. Now click on a texture (I chose metals so I wouldn't get confused), and paint a surface. Click the "Edit" tab, and check the "Use texture image" checkbox. Now, from the Open window, go to the directory C:/Program Files/BF2_ModTools/assets/worlds/TAT/msh (or something like that). Click on the image you want to use, and the texture is now on the surface. To change how it looks, change the numbers in the two boxes right below the texture directory. The higher the number is, the less you'll see recurring textures on your surface.

But A) neither you nor Fett worked on Tatooine buildings, and B) there aren't any Tatooine textures in the DMI Pack. There are metal textures in the pack, if Mswf wanted to make a metal building, but, correct me if I'm wrong, I think he wanted something that looked like the shipped buildings.

I kind of agree that the DMI textures wouldn't be all that good for a tatooine building, but I do use tham a lot, I'd highly recomend getting them. (you'd have to credit the creator for them if you're putting it in BF2, of course)

Why not get screenshots in-game and crop out what you don't need. You'd have to set all your setting on high to get the texture anywhere near good... but with freecam you could pick and choose what you needed from any angle.

Wow, thanks for all your advice. I have the modtools (only zeroeditor isn't working in my vista) so I'll reinstall it and use those textures (already have some from CG textures, but I'll maybe look which one looks better)

Oh, good, you have the mod tools. I was afraid you wouldn't be able to install them on Vista. Anyway, your quite welcome.

I can install the modtools, munge a world, play in that flat environment, only zeroeditor gives a strange runtime error. (the sollution is being discussed in another topic, can't remember which. I only know they haven't already figured it out.)

echo_66 is working with us on a different thread where he has isolated the problem, but the thread about ZE, Vista, and the Runtime error is found at the bottom of the Modding FAQ thread. Feel free to answer the questions posed in it like the others did.

This is a showcase topic. Stay on topic. If you have questions about doing something, ask them somewhere else. The next post starts a new page; that page should not be filled with 1 post of "showcase" and 19 of "talk."
