Download

To install, run installer; to uninstall, run uninstaller on start menu. If you don't like the hud, run GET_RID_OF_HUD.bat in Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\DATA\ No need to move lvls, it won't delete your original lvls, it will rename them out of the way. You can still use Zerted's common.lvl for freecam, an ingame.lvl with fakeconsole is on the way (60% done).

Note: if you downloaded this before Saturday March 8, 2008 @ 10:45 A.M EST, please download THIS and paste these two lvl's in Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\DATA\FPM\REP\ Thank you!

Abstract:

This "patch" (technically is a mod) will overhaul some of the game's assets, while keeping online compatibility with the previous version. This is basically just meant to clean up some of the mess Pandemic left behind as they rushed to get the game out. Some of the main changes are the new hud, new weapons, accurate chunk models, skin fixes, and extra effects (such as environment mapping). Hopefully this will make the game a more enjoyable and immersing experience when playing offline or online (it remains compatible online while still offering a variety of new features for gameplay).

FAQ

Does it work online?
Yes.

How do I install it?
Run the installer exe and make sure the filepath points to your \Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\DATA folder.

Does it work with other mods?
It'll work with mod maps, the Conversion Pack, and possibly the +123. It however will not work with mods similar in nature to BFX.

I hate the hud.
So go to \Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\DATA and run GET_RID_OF_HUD.bat It will revert it back to the original shipped hud. If you change your mind, run RESTORE_HUD.bat in the same place.

Why didn't you add new weapons/units?
That would crash your game online, which is not good. So I was limited to certain things that I could do.

Why didn't you _______?

There are some things that would ruin online compatibility, and others I just didn't have the time to address. Keep in mind that this is a "hobby," and required hundreds of hours on my part to produce.

It's a shame I have to turn off my laptop now; I'll be trying this as soon as I have any free time (tomorrow).

Wait a second, I've been trying the patch, and it is not working. If I load a map online or on instant action, my game crashes to the desktop.

What is wrong?

Lol, forgot the FPM/REP/lvl's HERE: http://files.filefront.com/REP1stperson ... einfo.html
Put these in: Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\DATA\_LVL_PC\FPM\REP\
Thunder wrote:there no cokpits for me
Only the ones from BF1, xwing, ywing, tie fighters.

Cause they were never there? That's been moved more towards the conversion pack, which is compatible with this.

You only had the shipped lvls in? Is your game somehow different than the standard one? Also check GameData\DATA\_LVL_PC\ for an ingame.lvl, likewise go to \SIDE\ and check to make sure there's the all, cis, imp, and rep lvls.

EDIT: Munging a new, NO-HUD, ingame.lvl, for those that really oppose it.
I think there's a small (or maybe kinda big) compatibility problem. I think he may have been talking about Alderaan assault, 'cuz when I play there, it's luke, obi, han, and chewie vs jango, boba, anakin, and maul. Not kidding. It's a little deprssing.

That's the conversion pack, right? Hmm, I'll have to check to see if Teancum overwrote some of the same lvls. He said it would be compatible though.

New installer uploaded, which automatically fixes the rep 1st person views, and includes a bat to remove the hud called GET_RID_OF_HUD.bat.

Teancum says that fisto and asajii are both in heroes.lvl. So I don't know why mine would affect that at all.

I modified:
  • rep.lvl
  • repshell.lvl
  • cis.lvl
  • cisshell.lvl
  • imp.lvl
  • impshell.lvl
  • all.lvl
  • allshell.lvl
  • ingame.lvl
  • repcomm.lvl
  • reptroop.lvl
I just don't see how it would affect it at all. Is the heroes.lvl still there in DATA/_LVL_PC/SIDE/ ?

For anyone who has that issue, if you can run BF2_modtools.exe and post the log in the Phoenix 1.8.4 release thread that'd be great.

I'm looking into the issue. Rep's mod rocks hardcore and together we think these mods would make SWBF2 all it should have been, so I'll fix it no matter what.

really nice work ;)

2 questions:
-have you fixed the position of the hud for higher screen modes than 768*1024?
-wouldn't using zerted's files causing floating icons for your weapon models?

RepSharpshooter, this patch is great! I'm liking the new improved sides and all the minor details. The new HUD is still good. :)

And also, about that supposedly hero assault issue that was reported by only one person, this issue does not appear on my machine at all. Don't go through all the trouble finding a non-existing bug.

The clone hands look awesome! Heres a few gripes I have though:

-The award weapons are all pink, even though canonically, none of those guns fire pink rounds.

-The ARC Trooper's arms don't have that weird mechanical device you see in its third person model.

-You should change the clones' blaster effects, I think only the imperial blasters are the ones that don't require changes to look more accurate to the movie.

-Dooku looks kinda of low-res
