I really don't want to burst your bubble Elmo, but trying to model the interior without having a background in modeling is like trying to feed a baby a steak. There's an old phrase "Milk before meat". It's best to start with something much simpler to learn how things work then progressively move on to more difficult things to chew.

Elmo, the ONLY Downloadable LEGAL version is XSI Mod tools, which is NOT supported with the Exporter. So you might use that to LEARN XSI, but you can't use it at all regarding Modding this game. you have to pay if you want the real deal.
I'd say you have no idea what you're talking about, Elmo - lol
You've already re-asked questions which were said before IS impossible.
for instance, the Terrain Cutter. For some reason you DID keep believing that a model is terrain. Even thogh it's pretty logical it's not...

Well, firstly, so few people seem to be productive modellers. And you rarely have modellers in general releasing low quality models - unlike mapping, where you get some garbage half-***** map every other day. This in itself creates the impression that modeling is both time consuming and difficult.
And just from the few times I've played around with XSI, to someone with no moddeling background its pretty daunting, and likewise not the friendliest interface.
You can't just take your mouse pointer and draw up a model, save it, then have it ingame.
I also think that because a large portion of the community doesn't take modding seriously, they have neither the desire or the time to learn how to model.

but what im trying to tell you is that i have no modeling background, i started out the same way anyone else here would, all i have ever had is trial and error, no one to teach me. no one ever got anywhere by giving up and waiting for everything to be spoon-fed to them, if you want something you have to reach out and take it or be left behind and be surpassed.

Well I don't disagree. I actually plan to start out this coming summer (perhaps during spring break if I have time but I'll probably be doing stuff in my life-life). I've researched it a bit, toyed around with the editor, and gotten a load of tutorials/resources stacked up.
And when I said
I agree.

I was saying pretty much..what you just said.I also think that because a large portion of the community doesn't take modding seriously, they have neither the desire or the time to learn how to model.
I agree.

it doesnt take much time, why do you think it took me so long to release such simple models, ive got a life, teancum watched me model those ships in less than hour each and i have many more, they just need finishing touches. but as far as this thread goes, if you want better interiors, your only gonna get them one way, and thats to make them yourself because i havnt seen any of the other modelers take any interest in making bigger interiors, if i play a space map i play to fly.

Plans to add hangars to coreship
I just recently opened up the Federation Core ship hangars in XSI, i'm basically tearing the ship apart and redesigning the interior where there was none, i should have it all done soon.

CIS Coreship hangars
I'm definitly going to scale it up, i would like for the Federation Landers(another project i'm working on) to be able to fit through the hangar doors like in the movie.PvtParts wrote:You should (I mean I would like it) rescale it to be more accurate size.
