Skinning question [Solved]

Post by 4l4ny4ng »

im doing okay at skinning so far; im not the fill bucket type, but how do you change the skin colors and still keep the darks and lights under consistently, such as the crease in the chest plate while painting on top of it...and dont tell me hue and satration because i want to ADD paint...

edit: in case i wasnt clear, i want to add markings on the armor without messing with the textures (im not sure if this is the right word) or the bumps and ridges in the armor

well assuming youre using gimp, go to colors>hue saturation that should do the trick

If using paint.net use recolor.

oh woops sorry, didnt notice that.
so...if youre using gimp...go to the airbrush and select burn. then for a color make it a lighter shade than what u want it to be. then when u paint, it will overlay on top of something, but the detail will still be there (like the crease) and the color should come out how u want it.
