Riflemen: Good all around infantry. Good for medium to short marksmanship and overall assault roles, though I have been lucky enough to kill enemy units from long distances despite the larger spread. Overall, I play this one the most because I like forming with other squads and charging into battle, though only slightly more over the sharpshooter class (I mainly play Republic).
Sharpshooters: Excellent at long ranges, also good for no scoping when it comes down to desperate measures.
Anti-Armor: When I feel like going tank busting, I go for the Rocket Infantry. Between the rocket launcher, the mines, and the thermal detonators, I just can't get enough explosions. They say with great power comes great responsibility....I don't think they factored in just how awesome it'd be to have a rocket launcher or mini-thermonuclear grenades. I don't play this AS much as the other classes, however I can say it's an awesome class. Getting a good lead on targets with the rocket launcher is how I take care of the enemy, especially when they are moving perpendicular. I'm trying to give this class a little more playtime.
Engineer: I don't use this class for combat roles. I just spawn as it, fix up any ammo and health droids in the area, maybe fix a vehicle or two, and then I switch back to a more aggressive role. As much as I like supporting my teammates, I just don't feel like the engineer is one of my favorite classes. I will admit it's nice setting det pack traps, though.
My favorite two classes out of all of these are the trooper and the sniper class...and since I'm more into reconnaissance, I'm going to have to go with sniper, despite my love for the basic riflemen. I have the mindset that the direct approach isn't necessarily the best approach.
