Lol, I know what you'd say to me if I made that... Anyway, it's nice but needs a texture.YouJediJunkie wrote:This is probably the only time you will see me doing next-gen stuff...![]()

Yeah, I do recommend doing low-poly stuff instead of high-poly stuff when you're practicing. This goes to everyone out there.PsYcH0_]-[aMsT3r wrote:Lol, I know what you'd say to me if I made that...

Practising... So you're always practising... Trust me people, if you saw the 50 poly models he's done... Or the MSN chat.... I need to do some models.YouJediJunkie wrote:Yeah, I do recommend doing low-poly stuff instead of high-poly stuff when you're practicing. Re: Model Showcase Thread v3.0
Thanks for all the positive comments, guys!
Now let's see some negative ones..... those are the ones that help me the most.
That rifle you've got is pretty impressive.
I have a feeling that using that ingame would feel like using a minigun, regardless of the gameplay values.
It's got that sort've uber-rifle kind of look.
I'm liking that lightsaber design though, looks very cleanly done, nice work!

Yeah my M4's pretty high-poly at the moment, but I'm largely confident that it'll work well ingame.Syth wrote: That's sick, looks very hi-poly though. M4 I think?

It's always nice to practice next-gen once in a while since games and computers alike will continue to grow in power.YouJediJunkie wrote:This is probably the only time you will see me doing next-gen stuff...![]()

Re: Model Showcase Thread v3.0
I decided to model something, and wanted it to be challenging, so I choose something I didin't think I could do well.
Not as hard as I thought.
Started on this yesterday, and I'm pretty much done modeling wise. I will add some triangular sails at the front and some kind of figure head. I'll challenge myself to make the figure head (A random watery tart) out of one cylinder. I may add an interior, deck details, cannons, etc later on.
I might texture it too, we'll see.

Re: Model Showcase Thread v3.0
Yeah that rifle would look cool spraying bullet anywhere. It's got a kinda chunky, powerful look to it that is pwnage itself.
Also nice ship Caleb! I remember YJJ making one like that once, but I like the style of yours better.
Off-topic: Congrats Mav on your 3000th post!

Nice looking ship, for a model for the "random watery tart" look at statue the Naboo assets it would almost work perfectly just give it a wood texture instead of stoneCaleb1117 wrote:I decided to model something, and wanted it to be challenging, so I choose something I didin't think I could do well.

Re: Model Showcase Thread v3.0
Well, true, but I will probably stick to 1990s graphics for a loooong while... But again, if The Force Unleashed (or any future next-gen game with a Star Wars theme) ever gets released to the PC with mod tools, it will be different! But I kinda doubt that.Taivyx wrote:Thanks for all the positive comments, guys!

Wow, that's pretty nice! I love the actual model but the UV looks a lil bit messy.Actiroan wrote:Well, definetaly not my best model, but i got inspired to do it after playing Counter Strike 1.6 (total pwnage game!!) and so here it is, my 10-minutes-uzi!
