I couldn't think of a creative name. :P

I'm pretty new to modding, and these forums have been a great help. I hope that I won't become the newb who keeps asking stupid questions. (LOL BRB WTF HOW I MAEK IT WERK ROFLMAO?!?!)

This sides mod is NOT very accurate to the movies, but rather goes for more of the "Oh my gosh, that was so dang cool!" effect. Lots of jet packs, lots of explosions.

There's quite a few custom skins in there which I am fairly proud of. One of these is the "Plastic Jango," or "Clone-Fett Hybrid," or whatever the heck you'd call it. Judge for yourself. :D

The idea behind Plastic Jango was that it was made from stormtrooper armor and mandalorian armor by Rebel mercenaries. And to look cool. 8)

One of my favorite custom weapons is the "Quantum Singularity Launcher." This baby opens up a rift in the space time continuum just for you, ingesting stormtroopers and other debris.

Still working on the effect, but this is close to its final form.

The Dark Trooper is still giving me problems. I wanted to make it like the one from BattleFront Extreme, but I couldn't get the default one to go any taller. So I just made it "fatter." It can take a huge amount of damage and still send Rebel scum flying.

With the difficulty set to Normal, it's an ego-shooter. Bump it up to Elite, and prepare to wet yourself. That way you can have it either way.

Mostly all that's left to do is clean it up and make it all "match" better. Also I'll start tweaking the native sides, too. I'm considering adding Rancor-lets to Jabba's Palace. :maulsaber:

I'll post more screenshots tomorrow, if I feel like it. Diet Dr. Pepper flu is interfering with my modding!

Hmm, looks not bad. Two things though:
1) Quantum Singularity: does it actually pull stormtroopers and debris in???
2) Try to balance all the units out so there aren't some insanely powerful ones.

I think the Jango looks pretty nifty, but it'd look even better with a darkened visor. Cool idea though.

Hmmm... looks good, but as Silas said, I think the Jango skin needs to be darkened and more detailed....

1) Yes. I used negative push to make in pull infantry in. It's still not powerful enough, and it doesn't make them disappear when killed. :(

2) That's mostly what I'm working on now. I'm allowing some sides to have a more powerful unit in the last slot (So that they can only have four of them.) that they have to earn. The Dark Trooper, for example, has a personal shield generator to simulate the heavy armor, as well as high health. However, it doesn't unbalance it because of the powerful weapons that most units carry.

I made sure almost every unit has one weapon that's a rough equivalent to a rocket launcher. For example, another weapon that I'm still working on is an Electromagnetic Pulse Rifle. It basically shoots a large blue blaster bolt that uses the EM explosion, and it will chain between units like the arc caster, doing large amounts of damage to electronics (Droids, Vehicles, Turrets, etc.)

Another weapon that I've added is the "Sticky Missile." When you hit an enemy, it sticks to them, waits a couple of seconds, and explodes. If you hit them just right, the impact will throw them into the air. (It has a second invisible ordinance that explodes on impact, using Push to fling the target. It throws allies, too, even if Friendly Fire is off. *Laughs Evilly*) I'm thinking of splitting this into two weapons; the sticky missile and a Graviton Emitter. (The Graviton Emitter does damage to any unit that takes damage from collisions. I'm going to give all units at least a little collision damage, because falling from several thousand feet and taking no damage seems dumb. :) ) Since this push affects allies, you can use it to shoo away pesky Jawas on Mos Eisley that keep trying to fix the enemies' turrets.

I'm going to be working on that. I like that armor itself being white, though. I'll darken the fabric and the visor, though. I've also got a bright orange recoloring of Jango and a Jango with a cape (Fire hazard? :lol: ) that I'll put in there somewhere (Maybe Mandalorian commanders helping the Rebels?)

I've also added shield generators. Thanks to Skyhammer_216 for posting how to do this.

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. I half expected to be laughed out of the modding scene because of the ridiculous weapons and hue-edited textures. :o I'm still working on a complete credit list for the resources, so if you made something you see here, don't feel bad. 1) If that were the case then Dann_Boeing wouldn't have had a succesful modding career.
2) New weapon possibilities (eg your 'sticky missiles' or my version, the 'snoutgun') mainly get found by making weird weapons.

4) I can make you a quantum singularity bomb (not gun, you'll throw them like nades) that sucks in anyone nearby and will make them disappear when killed. Only downside is it *may* effect you too if you get too close. The thing will have a mini-black hole effect (look up 'Ratchet Clank 3 rift inducer' for an idea of what I'll aim for). Oh and if you don't want it don't worry, I'll use it in something else....


And Finally....a few weapons I've made...some are ridiculous....

That would be awesome if you could make that 'nade! That would actually work better than mine, because a flying black hole would suck up things it passes close to. (Which I tried to figure out how to do, without success.) Out of curiosity, would it be using a short-lived autoturret that would fire a 360-degree emitter ordinance? Kinda like the cluster bomb.

What did you use to get a vehicle disabled for 6 seconds? That's awesome!

MOD UPDATES

Added broken_hope's Lightsaber hilts.
Added MTT in place of Spider walker.
Added caped version of "Plastic Jango" as a hero.

Added Wrist Blaster with working anim (Had trouble getting the right animation. For a while, it looked like the unit was shooting a pretend gun. Enemies kept saying that I missed... Until I acually shot them, and then they believed be. :funny2: )
Added Jango's jetpack missile from the Bounty Hunter pack.
Gave Jango an actual Westar 34, rather than that awful generic CIS gun.

Aaaaaand that's it so far. :runaway:

@Tygr: kinda like the cluster bomb.....but made from scratch, and using a constant 360 degree force pull like ordnance, and using all kinds of visual trickery to make the turret bit invisible. Also, kills with it will count to the player who used it (they don't for the 'turret' type cluster bomb).
Oh and disabling a vehicle for six seconds - just uses 'haywire' type ordnance, which was gonna be in BF2 (ie odfs support it) but wasn't ever used. The ion cannon just uses dual ordnance and some effects to make it look like a laser is disabling things. I'll upload a working haywire and effects soon (as in today)....

That Ion Cannon caught my attention, how does it work? does it "slice" people out or actually disable vehicles? because if it doesn't slice people out it is perfect for space combat in case someone puts some manned frigates, anyway, if you can share the code I'll be grateful.

Will release it + haywire soon. It slices people out, yes (and out of turrets) And it doesn't work on flying fighters :( . No way around this.
