BETA TESTERS: The first beta* release will likely be tomorrow or the next day, it depends when I find time to tie up my internet and upload it with my 40kb/s upload rate.

EVERYONE ELSE: Also, school laptop is being sent back to school for about three weeks while they reconfigure it, so I probably won't be able to test any new versions of the mod until I fix my desktop. (I will have to see if SWBF2 will run on my six year old budget laptop which almost meets the minimum requirements.) So, future updates will most likely be skins and such until then.


*technically an alpha but I feel like calling it a beta

Don't worry, I already have an external drive that I backed it up on last year, I usually backup this mod every week. I am actually copying it to my new old laptop as I am making this post.

Edit: Beta PM has been sent, beta testers should contact me if you have not received it.

Just because you asked doesn't mean that you should be chosen.

I usually stay away from strictly side mods, but I may give this one a try. It looks like a dramatic enough departure from the stock sides to be worth a download.

-Heroes crash some maps when you try to play as them.
-Rebel SpecOp Marine's weapon doesn't do anything on Death Star GCW conquest for some reason.
-Missing E-11 and E-9 sounds for some maps.
-E-web turret lacks sound for most maps.
-Rebel trooper in clone armor lacks sound for both primary weapons on at least some maps.
-Grenades lack sound on some maps.
-Z-6 Rotary cannon lacks sound on some maps.
-DC-18 repeating pistol lacks sound on some maps.

I've only played a little. So this list is far from complete.

By the way,
Hidden/Spoiler:
AESTHETICS

-EMP grenade should have a different sound (like something off of Clone Wars or even the SWBF1 sound, if you can manage it).
-Rebel armor should be dirtied up a bit on Death Star GCW.
-E-11 should have the sound used in the movies, available on the Star Wars soundboards.
-Muzzle flashes should be a whitish-orange for most weapons.
-To keep consistent with the rest of the weapons, the rocket launchers should have more explosive throwing power and damage range.
-Different sounds for different team's rocket launchers, sniper rifles, shotguns, etc.
-Humans should not be able to jump ridiculous distances nor run at ridiculous speeds.
-Droids don't need stamina levels.
-Rebel Desert Trooper may need a sidearm - they are too easily picked off from a distance by AI to be of much use anywhere but in extremely close combat. Dirty-up the uniform.
-Unit health can be tweaked just a bit less to give it the realistic-but-playable feel.
-Grenades should have greater damage range.
-Metallic/knife sound for the blades on the Clone Assassins.
-Republic commando sounds for republic commando weapons. Brighter blue color for the laser from the commando's sniper rifle, with white-blue core.
-Change the sound for the Rebel Specop marine's weapon, and give him something a commando would have other than a melee weapon. To combat this, give the shadowtrooper more health.
-Magnaguard should not sound like he has a lightsaber! And the staff needs to have an electrical effect, not a saber effect. Perhaps even color it yellow, if you are adventurous.
-Strange red droid with lightsabers should not be oversaturated. Overall, the unit feels strange.
-Geonosian elite is too big.
-SBD is too small.
-Droideka is too small (maybe).
-Need better effects.
-Geonosian elite's vibrosword sounds like a lightsaber and glows where it should not.
-Overall, Galactic Civil War era seems way more polished than Clone Wars era. Use some of the styles of the Original Trilogy to shape some parts of Prequel-era material, for greater consistency and realism - like dirtying-up armor, camoflauge, better effects, proper sounds, etc.

Why does the CIS sniper have an EMP grenade? That makes no sense. It would be like a clone carrying a Gas grenade
Pistols are again, worthless
Republic skins look good
Z-6 Rotary Cannon has no fire sound

Thanks for everyone who has tested so far.

I actually got SWBF2 1.1 and the modtools working on my other laptop. Stock Coruscant is working at a solid 10-15 fps on the minimum settings. Now I just need to install v1.3 and see if I can get my mod to run with its double resolution textures, extra bumpmaps and fancy effects.

I might actually make more progress than I thought I would and get most of the way to being in actual beta stage by when I get my other laptop back.

Hopefully all the free games I got from Playstation Network won't distract me from the mod too much.

So, after being away from for a total time of three weeks since the last update, I have made some progress. (amazing, I know.) This is only a part of what I have changed/added since beta 0.2, beta testers expect a beta in the next few days.

Anyone interested in beta testing can send me a pm, I will randomly pick new beta testers from the pm's I receive.


Now it's time for everyone's favorite part of the update, more BORING TEXT! Only the few people with fancy color monitors can notice colored text anyway. Oh, there's some screenshots too if anyone even looks at those.
