Re: question about models
Well, where the models ever released, like in a Modtools for EAW?
If the models weren't publicly released, I don't think you can legally convert them, unless you got permission from LuacasArts, or whoever else might have made the models.

Re: question about models
I know its possible, i got permission once to do it though, so make sure you get permission.
First open up the .ALO file with 3D Object Converter and save as a .obj
Second open up XSI and import the .obj
Third Clean up the model, add nulls ect.
Forth Branch select dummyroot and Export.

The 3d Object Converter can't convert to .obj, unless you purchase it i thought.. Any other ways?

Re: question about models
If the models come straight from a shipped game then you cannot legally convert them, unless the source files were released to the public, like in the case of the Jedi Outcast/Academy models. None of EaW/FoC's stuff has been. Unless the model was made by a community member as an addon to that game, and you received permission from the original author then you cannot convert it.
Sorry, but that's the rules and United States law (where this server resides, so that's the jurisdiction). If you release something that has models from another game it's an instant and perma-ban.

@ MandeRek: Yep you're right, i was just telling him what to do though.
@ Teancum: I agree, as much as it is illegal, its actually still "rude" to take someone elses work as your own, unless you are actually aloud to convert it... If it was EvilleJedi then im not sure whether he would let you convert stuff from hes released stuff.
