Re: Mission.lvl?
First, them me get this straight.
1. You ran the VM in Start/All Programs/LucasArts/Star Wars Battlefront 2(if you use windows)
2.You gave your map a name and specified what modes you wanted
3. You ran the VM in Bf2Modtools/data_MAP/Build
4.You hit select all(I know he doesn't have to do all of them)
5. You hit munge
6.You tried to play your map.

Re: Mission.lvl?
They don't work because you didn't copy the direct image link. When you go to your imageshack page for your photo's, on the right is a url for the direct image. Copy that into your post and use the img button.

Re: Mission.lvl?
You don't need the Start menu way. In fact, i've never run VM from the start menu. I always do it from the data folder.....
Your pictures also have some weird text between them. Dunno what thats from.
Also, with large pictures its best to put them in hide tags, whether an individual one for each image, or all in one hide tab. To do that select both the images and press the hide button above

Re: Mission.lvl?
Not neccesarily, you have to had run the VM that allowed you to name the map, though. Vista(at least mine) works fine with the modtools. Though, there is a fix for something for Vista, for the modtools.

I've always run it from the data file too.
I just tried it from start menu and same problem.

Re: Mission.lvl?
Yeah. Download the file in this link for a fix for VM in vista, its worth having a try in 7 though.

Re: Mission.lvl?
KK I dloaded it and ran vistamungefix.bat. I see nothing different...
Just made another map.
It took a lot longer to munge, and I thought for a second it would work, but I still see no _LVL_PC folder. Funny how the addme file munges perfectly fine.
Also funny how I spent a good 30 hours making a map and it turns out I can't make it; or if I do fix this, I'll have to start all over again, I think...

Re: Mission.lvl?
Why do you need to see it? Really, you don't have to see it. Can you not play your map or something?

Re: Mission.lvl?
Dude, in my addon folder in my maps folder there is nothing in my _LVL_PC folder. When I play it says cannot find mission.lvl.
Yeah I did munge from the _BUILD folder the second time.

Re: Mission.lvl?
He's just trying to help.
Thanks to you all for all your posts.
So does anyone have any idea what my freaking problem is?
I'm willing to try anything.
I've already tried dloading the mod tools a second time and that did not help.

Re: Mission.lvl?
I really hope someone can help me with this, I have a very good map made. I just can't play it with half the files I need, not where they are supposed to be.

Re: Mission.lvl?
Have you got any other computers, preferably xp, on which you can set up the modtools? Because its probably worth doing that if its possible.

Re: Mission.lvl?
Just for kicks -
-Create a new map with the VisualMunge in BF2_ModTools\data\_BUILD
-Confirm that it creates your new world (data_MODID)
-Without doing anything else, go to data_MODID\_BUILD and munge with only "common" checked
-Estimate the length of the munge (~2s, ~30s, ~5min, etc.)
-Show us the munge output - the data from the text window in VisualMunge (not a munge log or anything else)
If you haven't been munging first with "Common" checked then that is your problem right away, you don't need to do any of the above steps. If you have, please do them and post the munge output.

Re: Mission.lvl?
Okay I did it.
Let me know if I did anything wrong or if I need to do anything else.
It took about half a second to munge.

I'm going to try it on my brothers computer but it will take a while because his computer is so slow.
And yes I have been munging with common checked; everything checked in fact.
Weird how it says copying mission.lvl and core.lvl (etc.) and yet I don't have them.

Re: Mission.lvl?
From the FAQ Thread:
FAQ wrote: Question - I'm using Vista and Visual Munge is not working properly, it is munging too fast so what's wrong?
Answer - Try THIS workaround to get it working properly.

Re: Mission.lvl?
Mav, are you sure that is what I need?
I already downloaded it, and used it.
I don't see anything different.
I munged again, still no _LVL_PC folder where its supposed to be.
