It was actually an okay thanks to the complete review, but the r2 idea sounds excellent, it is just that doing anything to those sides is a bit of a gamble, because they got so screwed up, so I am worried about doing anything to them, I am suprised they are still functional. I will fix the reticule thing, and Obi's beard being green, as far as i am concerned it is definetly not green, just possibly the lighting. Leia is stretched I agree, but in order to fix that, I would have to create all new anims. for her and that would be a serious challenge. Thanks for the review, all you guys have made this map so much better with your suggestions that it is truly amazing!woner11 wrote:Is that an okay thanks to artoo or the review. Anyway with the review, I noticed several floating objects, which I took pics of, so I'll post those some time. Leia still looks a bit stretched (you might be able to shrink the skeleton), when you zoom in with the wookies sniper bowcaster, the reticule goes up to the top of the screen. Also, if you could modify Obi's beard that would be good, it just looked a bit green, but that might just be me. Anyway, it looked nice, and I'll post anything else I find. Good work with this!

Obi's beard could have just been lighting. I noticed the CIS (cw) droids are going backwards. To change leia's height and being stretched, change this look at these four lines in Leia's odf:
I think that's about it. Its an awesome map, so good work!

Thanks, I am glad you like it! As far as I know about the droids moving backward, this is because of the way the model was made. In order to fix it, I would have to rearrange the UVs on the skin, and then switch the model around, which would not be easy. But thanks for that leia info!woner11 wrote:Obi's beard could have just been lighting. I noticed the CIS (cw) droids are going backwards. Re: The New Empire: Beach Assault (Beta) -- Released!
Sorry I couldn't review earlier like I said, but something came up. Anyway, I played both eras, and here's my take:
+
Interesting ideas. I haven't played too many beachhead maps for BF2 and I haven't ever played R2 vs. R4 before. I especially liked the black outlined R2. I also liked the skins, especially the new :stormie: and CO. Jedi Leia was a nice addition to the map as well. I noticed AI AA guns and a K-wing, which was fun to pilot.
The combat on the map (where there was combat) was fast and furious, which I believe is essential in any map. What I usually did was hide behind some rocks on any of the little islands and chuck grenaders over at the enemy, then peek out and let loose a volley of blasterfire.

The map itself didn't feel too much like a beachhead, at least from an Imperial perspective. From the Rebel perspective, I felt like I was defending a Wookie outpost near the ocean, but when I played as the Imps, it was like island-hopping. Perhaps you could make oneisland that the Imps start on, and add some crates and misc. gear to make it seem like the Empire has just landed and is commencing the attack. Also, the Imperial Co's weapon is good, but it was far too slow and packed too little ammo, even if it was powerful. As for the terrain, some rocks are transparent at a distance, and also there are a few floating huts, even though its not very noticeable. There's also not much there, aside from the huts, some rocks, grass and barriers. I would suggest adding more detail.
I did enjoy playing the map, despite some of the problesm, which were fairly minor. My favorite part was playing as the Imp hero :vader2: :emp: Overall 7.75 / 10

Here are some pics for reference for floating objects and hud problem.

@MasterSkywalker - thanks
@Woner - ok thanks! I have made some of those changes. Also, what is with the lighting in those pictures? It looks a little too bright.
@All - has anyone else besides for Fluffy_the_ic experienced lag?

I haven't experienced any lag. As for the lighting, those pics were taken in the lightest areas, it was normally much darker.
