Orbiter msh files aren't the same as Battlefront msh files.
Files that share a common extension do not necessarily have the same data structure.
There is no Battlefront msh import plugin for Blender to my knowledge.
You will need to go this route:
*.msh > SWBFViewer > *.vrml > Blender
or this one:
*.msh > meshtool > *.obj > Blender
or this one:
*.msh > Softimage Mod Tool 7.5 > *.obj > Blender
