Re: Stealth and vehicles
they write that the bothan one is for unit only, but which part makes it like that?

Re: Stealth and vehicles
Probably every part. At a guess, the cloaking is something the developers only coded to work with units in the first place.baumerindustries wrote:but which part makes it like that?

Re: Stealth and vehicles
Maybe we have to find the part which disables the targeting with torpedos (I'm not sure about that I say it understandable || pressing Q (on the german keyboard don't know english one) and you see how far the vehicle is away and which one it is you know), so you can't shoot on it with rockets/torpedos.
then we have to find a LUA functoin which is able to change the texture of the vehicle (to a texture without any color)
then you can't see it and you cant fire at it with torpedos...
sorry for my bad english

I do believe I understood, but sadly, the whole stealth thing would only work against humans, the AI would still be able to fire at you and therefore it is pointless.
And under no circumstance could you change the texture of a model via lua, it has to be a model change, but the model could have a different texture and be transparent.

Re: Stealth and vehicles
first: doe's anyone know the part where the odf makes the AI not to fire at you?
Then we would have to try if this part works on vehicles, too...
second:So you can change the texture of an object if I understood you right via an model change

Re: Stealth and vehicles
1: there is not such a part
2:you can change the texture of a model but as discussed in the thread AQT linked, the "cloak" would be permanent and has no effect on AI.
there is really no way to give a vehicle a proper stealthweapon

Re: Stealth and vehicles
Maybe we can make a UNIT which is able to spawn only at ONE special CP and has got Stealth and the figure of eg an ARC170-fighter and a jet-pack with much flying-time and more health than usual units. Then it mustn't get into other hangars...
hope U undersand...

Re: Stealth and vehicles
no, there is no way to make a unit act convincingly like a vehicle. in my opinion the result is not worth the effort.

Re: Stealth and vehicles
I would like to say, while I admire your spirit, this idea should be dropped. Believe me, I understand, I am known for trying impossible things, but I am quite unsuccessful. I suggest you dont waste your modding time tying to make a stealth vehicle.
