Need help with importing custom characters

This is my first time trying out modding with battlefront 2 and I am a bit lost.
Right now I am just fooling around in a test map trying to work out how some thing work and how to implament things. So far I'v only messed around with command posts, imported vehicles, changed clone armor textures that kind of stuff.

Right now I am trying to add Asajj Ventress into the map as a test as I want to use her as a CIS hero once I actually figure out how to decently make a map.

I am trying to use the released assets from the Conversion Mod (Specifically dual red blade Asajj) but I can't seem to get alot of the hero's from that asset release to work.
Right now I have managed to get her in game but the game will crash as soon as she spawns. I have also put her in the republic solider slot to test her out quicker, and I notice her model in the menu has regular infantry gun animations and she is not carrying her sabers. After that the game just crashes ( I guess as the AI is trying to spawn as her)


Anyone out there think they can help ?

I don't know the Assets itself but it sound like the .combo file of here weapons are missing. Also make sure you have a munged folder in your side containing here saber animations. By the way welcome to Gametoast :)

I did notice she was missing her .combo file, so I gave her Aayla's .combo file and renamed it "cis_hero_ventress.combo"
Also her saber would come up blue during that split second I was able to see her.
I'm going to give it another try soon after I am done messing around with this other thing (Just gonna make up a new fresh test map to figure this out on)


EDIT
Ok here is what I did.
Used ModtoolsVisualMunge to make the new map (the munger found in C:\BF2_ModTools\data\_BUILD)
Used ModtoolsVisualMunge (Select all)as I usually do this with every new map I do, still new to it and not sure if this is needed but I do it before trying to change anything. ( the munger found in C:\BF2_ModTools\data_ABC\_BUILD)
I also always get a error message here
ERROR[levelpack shell.req]:Input file shell.req does not exist. [continuing]

Ran the map to see if its works which it does.

make new side (ccs) and add it to the \sides\ folder along with Common copied from the assets in bf2_modtools\assets\sides
Did a quick addition of a Clone Wars Maul character that I know I can install and can get working.

Ok now to get into what I did while adding Asajj
added "cis_hero_ventress" to the ccs.req
added cis_hero_ventress.req to \ccs\req
added cis_hero_ventress.ofd com_weap_inf_forcewave and cis_weap_lightsaber_ventress.odf to \ccs\odf


added aalya.anims .zaabin and zafbin to \ccs\munged (As they were listed in cis_hero_ventress)

added the following files to \ccs\msh\
cis_her_ventress.msh
cis_weap_ventress_lightsabre.msh
bodyasajj.tga
headasajj.tga
skirtasajj.tga
bracer.tga
imp_weap_inf_lightsabre.msh

moved Aayla's .combo file into /ccs/odf and left the name as rep_hero_aayla.combo this time.

I load it up, this time I see Asajj with two red sabers, but still has a standard solider reloading animation in the selection menu the crashes due to a cpu selecting her I assume.

I change rep_hero_aayla.combo to cis_hero_ventress.combo and remunge, still getting the same results

Please post an error log. That will make it much easier to find the problem

Still kinda of new, where do I find the error log ?
Only error I get currently is that initial munge of everything, I don't get it when I am just munging common or the sides. Il put it here anyways.

Turns out it was her weapons themselves that was causing the issue.
I could get the Rattatak version of her working (Who uses Aayla's sabers of green and blue) so I copied that version of her sabers, turned em red and renamed them to replace the file for Vetnress's sabers used by the regular Ventress hero and it worked.

Your munge errors are caused by sound munge and shell. Uncheck them when mungeing, you won't need them. You need to put the bf2_modtools.exe that came with Modtools in your BF2 directory and run the game from that exe. It's a kind of debugger, that will generate an error log.

Managed to get it all working, moving on to other stuff which im still fighting to get working -.-
