How to create models in XSI and other 3D applications and make them work in Battlefront 1 & 2. Post models, tips for application usage and share anything XSI, 3DMax, SketchUp, etc.
I was wonder if I could get some modelers out there to help me with something, and no this isn't going to be like my other request, im not dumping this.
This is what i need made:
-------------
Halo:
Ghost
Banshee
Wraith
Warthog
Scorpion
-------------
These will be vehicles to ride and they will need firing points (whatever you call them).
This is going to be for my new major mod, a sequel to my Halo Mod Beta with new weapons and probably new maps.
Someone actually made that Ghost thingy for SWBF1. I remember seeing it in Zero Editor screens. Can't remember who it was though? Might try searching the BF1 boards.
You'd be better off modding halo to have conquest!
Well said, Ace. >.<
If you realy want this done, I'm going to take a random stab and say that the only way that this would be accomplished would be if you did it yourself.
No offnese, but this is sucha major request I do not actually see this hapening at all.
It's an awesome idea, really. But dude..
I love Halo. In fact my online name (for the trial version) is 'a Banshee' (a Banshee killed flagetyburbett. You get the most awesome kill messages) Love the game. I would love to see something remotely like it in BF1. But, heh...
Here's an idea. If you can get your paws on the models from the game (maybe Halo CE has them availible, dunno muh about CE) you could either convert them or ask someone to convert those. But Asking for models..
but remember the copyrights material etc. so unless you got permission from the authro(s) to use it, you'll get in big trouble by them and if not: by Gametoast Admins
If the time frame isn't too urgent, I could possibly create meshes, though I suck at creating textures, so I couldn' t do those. Also, my trial version of XSI 5.1 expired, so you'd have to have someone else run edit flags and export them.
Hold on my offer for a day or two, my 4.2 MOD TOOL is broken. It always says that another program is using the batch. If I get it working, I'll post it here.
Yes, Halo CE is free to anyone with a valid Halo CD-Key, and supports modding. The problem here doesn't really lie in the avility or ease of converting the model, but in the lega ramificatons of doing so. Microsoft doesn't even really like people making halo mods, and might prosecute someone who actually ports the model from one game to another. You could try to get the express permission of bungie, but doubt that's going to happen.
Even if it weren't illegal, many filehosting websites reject ported material.
Besides, models from Halo, especially the covenant ones, will probably contain too many polies to effectively port them. I mean, sure, you could have one friggin' sweet ghost... but a model constructed along the poly guidelines of SWBF II would be more efficient for memory, if a little less sweet.
It's a virus, BKDR_RBOT.EBH. It's locked me out of access to cmd.exe and regedit, as well as batch files, hence no MOD TOOL. I'm not sure how long it wil take to get it off.
