[WIP]Special Forces Mod

Seen i cam back to GT i haven't done much cos i didn't have any ideas, but now i do.

The mod will replace the Republic, CIS, Rebel Alliance and Imperial Forces with their Special Forces.

The Republic will probably become Shadow Troopers, ARCs or Covert Ops clone troopers. The Shadow Troopers would look like this:

And i could make skins if i didn't do Shadow Troopers./

The CIS, might be the Nimbus commandos.
I already have a skin for them i never finished (extensive reskin of Scout), if i finish that up i could use it.

The Rebel Alliance will probably use the SpecForce SpaceOps. I could make or find a skin for them easily.

The Empire will have the Storm Commando. Once again, making or finding a skin shouldn't be hard.

Each unit will probably use the same model with a slightly different skin and different weapons to fill out all the different required things. New models will also be used, like the DC-15 model will be the DC-19 "Stealth" carbine for the Republic Commanders, and the T-21 will be used by the Imperial Leader.

I can do alot of these things on my own, but to make it easier if someone could put the sides together, including copying and editing the models so they can be used with different skins, it would be helpful.
Also i want to now what people think, and are the sides ok?

i think ARCs are better then covert ops clone troopers

I would only use ARCs if i could reskin them to look less boring, and more Special Forces.
Here is the Nimbus Commando skin ingame, next im gonig to make an alpha chanel to try and get rid of the bits of the helmet that stick out on either side.

I have a (critically acclaimed) Storm Commando skin right here:

Why not use Republic Commandos? You could make one with, say the rifle attachment and the sniper attachment; then one with the rifle and the anti-armour, then one with, say, a bowcaster; then one with a rocket launcher; and so on. It'd be fun.

Or, you could combine different special forces units - say, use a few ARCs, then a Galactic Marine, then a Shadow Trooper, then a Clone Assassin, then an RC, etc. That'd work too.

I think you should darken the gun textures becasue they are too light fot the skins but excellent skins!!! Keep up the good work.

Thanks, ill try out the skin. Yeh definatly will need to darken the weapons. Once ive got the Nimbus Commandos Helmet all right, ill add the purply tinge to it. I completly forgot about the Republic Commandos, think ill use them, but with darker skins, want all the sides to be dark, and shadowy, not bright white.

Just use the Imperial Commando skin that comes with the RC source files. It's a black version, very nice.

I mean this with absolutely no offense to my fellow ARC_Commander, but if you, Dragon93 are considereing an imperial commando skin, I think you might want want to look at the one used by Astute in his Manaan: Murky Depths map. this one had been my personal favorite version and, at the very least, it might give you some inspiration if you end up doing the skin yourself.


and, just an idea, if your are going to have a mix of troopers as stated by ARC_Commander, would you consider adding the IG-88 model to the CIS? They did, after all, have some IG battledroids in the battle of Muunilist.

Delta57Dash has made a nice SpecForce Spaceops in his Elite Sides Mod II for the alliance in space, you might want to ask him, it's really really nice.

Ok, ill look into that. I will try out ARC_Commanders skin because i find ita bit better since Storm Commandos are supposed to be black and not have a blue visor. Also i don't think i will be adding a mix of troops, i just want Special Forces so it won't be a mix of, say for the Republic, an ARC, a Shadow Trooper and an RC, i just want one group of Special Forces for each side, instead of just trying to put in all the cool skins and models, i just want to keep it kind of realistic, so each side will have one Special Forces group, and the different things like engineers will just be a change to the skin.

You should use the JKA models for the DC-15A and the EE-3.

How do you plan to do self-destruct? If you don't have a better way to do it, I can give you the code for my self-destruct Ewok (it's ridiculously simple, but it only works if you have Friendly Fire turned on.) PM me if you want it.

As far as the rest of the coding--what do you need, exactly? It sounds like you're mostly patching code together from different sources and adding your own skins. Since you already know how to get skins ingame, what do you need a coder for? :P If it's a quick job, and you get everything ready, I might be able to do it (no promises, though.) PM me and we'll see. :)

Hey the sniper rifle sticks out like a sore thumb on the nimbus commando skin make it darker, just a suggestion.

Ok, authraw i've PMed you about the coding, the self destruct i don't know yet how we will do it, could use your code, just at the moment im trying to gather the models skins and ideas i need to do this, before putting it all together.
weird165, i know, i will reskin all the guns that are being used to be darker, to go with the darkness of all of the Special Forces skins.
I have sent a PM to Delta57Dash hopefully ill be able to get his skins.

Update: Authraw is going to doing the coding for the sides, i have the skin for the SpecForce SpaceOps from Delta57Dash, going to start putting everything together now (well for the Republic then will do everyone else)
