well this is my first map,Rhen Var:Battlefield version .95

its based off of a battlefield1942 map i cant think of its name at the moment.

both factions are playable, its a battlefield
with bunkers and hills.
the imps/rep base is in sorta in a base with hangers and other buildings and the rebels/CIS are in a very small settlement.

known bugs: tanks get stuck in some places
(this is not the final version, updates will follow as needed)


like i said this is my first map so dont be too hard on me. ;)

hmm thats weird,the pics worked in the morning i'll try uploading them again

and the next version will be out soon :)
i added 2 more cp's
and will try putting more obstacles in

if anyone has any objection to ethier of these please let me know

thank you, the minimap from Hoth: Echo Base, doesn't look good in this map.... lol

To Rebel_Scum:

I'm glad you listenend to me, when I said you should add 2 more CP's on the battlefireld :wink: and you also agreed, with more obstacles - now lets see, if the score can raise from 4 on MY score, to a 10 :wink:
And about the pics, OTHERS then you, can't see the pics you upload to yahoo - I thought too, when I helped Precise_moon with his pic, so its ONLY you, who can see the pics you upload... too bad, but try to ask someone, if they want to upload it on their site (if they have one :wink: )

C ya, and I CAN'T wait to see your improvements... hehe

Well i played this map last night. It is pretty awesome, you have a good grasp of mapping. The map itself is nice and big, the control points are well placed and you also have a good selection of vehicles, an all around map.

Now here's what i would do to improve the map: First of all since it is a big map, i would add more AI units. I make it a point to have 40-50 units per team minimum, especially with maps of this size and scope. Also since it is a big map, maybe you would want to include the AT-TE for the clones as well as the mammoth tank for CIS and the AT-AT for the Imperials. However, that's just my opinion in terms of vehicles. As for the AI units, i think that is an essential in any good map. The bigger the battles, the better the map is. But as it is i think your map is one of the better ones i've seen and i think you have some great potential, especially if this is your first map. 8/10.

ok thanks panz,i just registered

thanks also for the great feedback what i changed so far is;
i gave the reb's/imps units the snow texture, fixed the mini map,added 2 more CP's off to the side of the battlefield,i added 1 turret IN the bunkers,and i fixed a couple of unoticable things.

i know a lot of people have asked me to have a lot more AI and i tried that before the release
but unfortionatly it only worked in multiplayer so if you play multiplayer there will be a lot more AI,i will start onother thread to see why it only worked for multiplayer and not singleplayer becuse I also wanted more AI,(the more the merrier especcaly on a big map) :wink:

about adding AT-TE,AT-AT,and the mammoth tank,i might do that a couple of other people have asked me to but the only problem with that is i'll have to move everything back otherwise it would be really cramped) and moving everything back will be pretty hard so im not sure about that

again thanks for the great feedback and i'll kepp you posted on when the next version will come out :wink:

ok,well i got the AI to work :D :D :D :D :D so know its about 30 for EACH side which is 60 on the battlefield :D i also added 2 Cp's as i said in my other posts,i made it a little more hilly,put turrets IN the bunkers,fixed up some of the buildings,and changed the mini map,and i think thats about it
if everything works out the next version should be out tonight

Hope it not laggy as GEONSOSIS : FINAL BATTLE map. but 60 AI... my GPU can handle that, it a snap.

things that i changed:
well i changed the mini map,added more hills,changed the CP names,
added 2 more spawns,put obstacles on the battlefield,added more AI to the battlefield,put turrets in the bunkers,and i think thats it...

Why did you remove the vehicles?

When i play there are no tanks or flyers for the Clone Wars. Was this a deliberate decision?

EDIT: Looks like the vehicles just do not spawn for the Clone wars, however the rebels/imperials vehicles spawn just fine.
