Re: Modern Warfare 2
I'm really liking the ACR, its pretty cheap with its next to none recoil and combined with stopping power and steady aim, it can get very cheap even at distance. Less damage then the Scar-H but easier to keep on target.
Although I did 30:7 in Rundown with
MP5k Rapid fire
USP .45 Tactical Knife
Marathon Pro
Lightweight Pro
Commando Pro
Speed demon of knifing and hip firing
Double 1887 Shotguns though are just wrong, they are way to powerful and IW should address them in a patch. Far too many kills at intermediate/long range with those.

Re: Modern Warfare 2
You know, after thinking about it, Sheppard will probably come back in MW3. After all, given the wild plot twists and the fact that you are more likely than not to survive your eye being taken out by a knife, it would make sense if they were saving him to be an enemy again in MW3.
On a side note, I've been trying to get my xbox live working but I don't have an ethernet cable or an xbox wireless adapter. Does anyone know if a regular wireless adapter works, or if not, where I can find a good xbox wireless adapter for a reasonable price?

I'm not sure if the others will work with it. If you want something cheap, RadioShack sells 25-50 ft. Ethernet Cables.trainmaster611 wrote:On a side note, I've been trying to get my xbox live working but I don't have an ethernet cable or an xbox wireless adapter. I would be thoroughly disappointed if they did bring Shepard back. His whole climactic death would be pretty much pointless then.

Shephard with an eyepatch would be hilarious... ly bad. There's no possible way for him to come back from the dead, you saw where the knife went (either his eye or his forehead from what I hear), and that's impossible to survive. Then again, this is a video game series, and money is money.

I think Infinity Ward likes to push reality, so we might see Shepherd again. I mean in the first CoD, he survived having an arm shot off, and in the second one now the whole story just pushes it.

Since when is it impossible to survive losing an eye? Granted, I think its safe to say the knife went through to his brain, and well if he does manage to come back, he will be.....erm....a little different.

That was Imran Zakhaev, and I'm pretty sure you could survive your arm being blown off.
Especially considering that there were so many of his men around him, so he'd be brought to medical attention rather quickly, most likely.

Re: Modern Warfare 2
I dunno, for some reason surviving a .50 Cal bullet to the arm resulting in it being blown clean off is more acceptable than a knife throw to the dome.
It's not so much whether or not it is realistic for Shepard to survive for me, but more that it was at the climax of the game. Your whole team was betrayed and killed sans two members, and they take it upon themselves to get revenge.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'd be disappointed if Shepard survived because of the emotion backing that is present throughout the moment of Shepard's death. You were exacting revenge for his betrayal and you were aware of all the past crimes he committed.
For Zakhaev, it was revealed he was the main antagonist, but when playing as Price you weren't really aware of any crimes Zakhaev committed in the past and they didn't affect you personally. You knew the consequences if you failed, yes, but it felt more like an assassination job that a killing with emotional backing.
It really didn't matter for me that Zakhaev survived the .50 Cal shot, because you knew he would anyway. If Zakhaev had survived that pistol shot at the end of CoD4, I would've been disappointed for the same reasons I'll be disappointed if Shepard survives.

If you have ever studied psychology at all, you will be familiar with the very famous case of Phineas Gage:Lord Bardar wrote:There's no possible way for him to come back from the dead, you saw where the knife went (either his eye or his forehead from what I hear), and that's impossible to survive.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phineas_Gage
...and you will certainly realize that not all brain injuries are fatal, especially when they do not involve massive amounts of trauma (i.e. explosion). I haven't played the game, but I would assume you are referencing some kind of knife to the brain.

The knife strikes Shepperd in the left eye. I woudn't be able to tell you exactly how long that blade would have been, but I would imagine no more than 7 inches. Now remember that there is some distance between the eye and the actual brain - you have the eyeball, the optical nerves, and some other cavities before you actually get to the part of the brain behind the eyes. The frontal cortex is located above the eyes so its not in any danger of being harmed.
There are other factors you would have to take into consideration. I seriously doubt that any human being (let alone one that is bleeding to death) would have the power to hurl a knife 10 feet and have it strike so forcefully that the blade could cut through 3 or 4 inches of flesh. And even so, as Phineas Gauge showed us, you can survive a projectile being blown through your eye and brain in that location.
But that's all technical physics and psychology. The real reason I believe he would come back is simply because it would be a dramatic twist to the plot.

Re: Modern Warfare 2
No, I'm serious. The bleeding from having an arm shot off would be tremendous, and his men scramble to save their own lives, not Zakhaev'z. It is certainly possible to survive that, I'm just saying that Infinity Ward can and has kept protagonists alive, even after major, life-threatening wounds.Dohnutt wrote:Not sure if that's sarcasm or not, but:SilvaDalek wrote:Just like its safe to say having an arm blown off would kill you, and if not, the bleeding would, oh wait...Thire wrote:Granted, I think its safe to say the knife went through to his brain

Re: Modern Warfare 2
Anyways, none of this really matters, because it's really up to Infinity Ward.
If they want to bring a character back, they'll do it. If you're 100% sure that that character should have died, they can still bring them back. A quick flashback which shows how the character really died will make you believe IW.

Re: Modern Warfare 2
You Guys really like MW2?
I played 3/4 of SP Campaign ,some Rounds MP with some private Friends but not now Spec Ops.
Sure i like some of the Missions like the Snow Mobile Map or The White House Mission, the GFX also is not so bad in some Levels on the PS3 and the Predator-Drone is cool but i dunno why i dont like the complete Gameplay.
Nor is it gameplay-wise better than MW1 and WaW.I loved MW 1 but this Sequel is 100 % the baddest CoD Game i have ever played. ( i played All
)
All of my friends also dont like it that much.
After playing AC2 and Uncharted 2 this CoD Release is not my Favo Game this Year and i mostly need to force me to play it.
