This is probably a noob question to all of you, and I think I might know the answer, but...
Is it possible to mod the game engine?
This way, we could have the String Pool Error not show up, have the ability to mod hardccoded stuff, and generally improve BF2 to the point where it's awesome.
I think the answer is no, but I have to ask anyway.

Re: Game Engine
I think that's not possible. To modify the game engine, you need to have the sources, and pandemic don't distribute the sourcecode.

Aside from that, isn't it illegal?

Re: Game Engine
I don't think so, as long as you're not selling it or claiming it's yours, or making Lucasarts claim responsibility to your modifications.Fiodis wrote:Aside from that, isn't it illegal?

Lucasarts EULAs always state that you cannot modify EXE files.

Re: Game Engine
You're kidding...
1st: You read that stuff?
2nd: Well, not only can't we modify the game engine, now we're not legally allowed to do so.
Ok, I guess that answers my question. Thanks.
