Can you see the stars?

Post by Ace_Azzameen_5 »

I'm trying to get stars to appear in my sky (My night sky that is) I pasted some code from the naboo sky to mine, but to no avail. Any required .fx files or other things I need to know about?

Sky File Code:
Hidden/Spoiler:
Stars()
{
RandomSeed(1);
TwinkleFactor(0.5);
TwinkleFrequency(0.1);
Color(255, 255, 255, 255);
PC()
{
NumStars(8000);
BrightStarPercent(70.0);
AlphaMin(15);
ColorSaturation(.75);
}
}

Maybe you could simply copy the whole naboo2.sky file? :)

Unless he's got other sky effects in there too.

Possibly stars are a msh addon to the skydome? Check for any lines involving those.

I don't see any calls to and mshs in naboo or coruscant...

P.S. my sky is pretty customized, er, skies...

Polis Masa has a star skydome, which if you had transparent bits in you sky msh they might show through or make it so most of the Polis Masa sky texture is transparent.

Also just looking at the naboo2.sky file you would also need to put in the dome model line above the bit you copied

DomeModel()
{
Geometry("nab2_sky_dome");
}

and copy the nab2_skydome.msh file as well. Oh and if you were looking for it even though it is in the PS2 section for the stars the star_fx.tga is in the polis masa effects folder.
