General Tiin's Assault Beta 3 released 1/15/07
Well, here's the first release for testing. Basically this is to see how everyone feels the map plays balance wise.
Bugs:
Some spots you walk on air. Can't fix that.
If you are a trooper and destroy the cis bridge or are on it when its destroyed, you will fall through. ALL the way through. Can't fix that either.
I know several of you wanted more autoturrets. I had a bunch, but the cis pounded every republic ship before it left the hanger. and the republic didn't retaliate. So in order to fly, the turrets were cut down. At the moment, I fear the republic holds a huge advantage, Especially with this vehicle issue. I also know you wanted lots of ships. The map is rather large to download now, I really don't know how many ships I can fit in.
Features:
Fight on top of the CIS ship or in it.
Play as Saesee Tiin (mask not finished) with force crush.
Play as General Grievous
Play as Jetrooper or Droid Marine with unlimited Jet fuel.
Saesee Tiin's fighter included.

Wish I could download it, but Filefront's not exactly... working right.
Won't even let me start the download. Something about running an ActiveX Control on the page, then crashes. Not sure if anyone else is having the same problem, but maybe you should upload it to Savefile or something like that.

savefile added. for the moment, don't use the filefront one. its filled with at least 3 sides you don't need, that i thought i removed.

Played it, and I thought it was a pretty fun map. Though, I do have a few suggestions...
- First thing I noticed off the bat was that Saesee Tiin's and Grievous' lightsabers were untextured. I'm not sure if you knew this or not, but I'm just pointing it out to you. The sabers were just white and untextured. And, of course, Tiin's skin isn't finished, but I know you're still working on that.
- One main thing I saw when I first started out, was that practically none of the CIS actually spawned on top of the ship. They all spawned inside. There was really no fighting whatsoever unless I actually went into their hangar. And even then they just seemed to stand around. The clones were just kinda floating there too... not really doing anything. I don't know if it was like that for you, but the bot pathing was just... well, it needs a lot of work.
- One thing I would suggest that I know you were debating over, is to tone down Tiin's crush move. It's a little too powerful. I can literally kill anything I want within an instant. I'd say weaken it just enough so as it won't instantly kill everything, but can still do a fair amount of damage to the critical systems.
- I didn't hear any sounds for the lightsaber or jet packs. You might want to look into that also.
- Last suggestion I have, is to add some ships and lasers flying around in the sky, just to give it some ambience. Right now, the battle just seems kind of... empty. Adding the stuff in the sky would help it feel more like a battle.
* Also, I should note that I noticed all of this while playing as Tiin. I haven't played with the clones or any of the CIS units yet. I'm not sure if the map is different or not while playing as them. Maybe it's just because I was playing as Tiin, I don't know. One thing I did notice was that there was also a couple duplicates of him running around the map. I'd make it so only 1 Tiin can be on the field at one time. That would stop the duplicates and such. I'll go play as a clone and see how it is then. It might be different. I'll get back to you on it.
Overall, it was a good map. Needs work, but, of course, it's only a beta. I'm sure future versions will be even better. This is quite an ambitious map to try, but so far you've done a pretty good job on it. Keep up the good work.

Sabers not texured. that's odd. i'll look at it again, but they should be since all the files are there. Sounds is something that may be the hardest to do. technically there should only be 1 tiin, but occasionally you will see at least 1 more running around. there's not much i can do about that. i have the spawn set to 1 for both grievous and tiin. And I think I will increase the jet speed. The crush will be toned down. the other question is what to do about grievous' weapons.

Great map! It is really hard to win as CIS. I spent about 20 minutes destroying critical systems and only managed to get 150 points, but then I switched to Republic, choose Tiin, went in the hanger, destroyed all the systems and won in about two minutes. I would suggest moving the Republic ship a little closer to the CIS one. I would also suggest making a pilot and marine version of the jet troopers. And in the cartoons the battle over Coruscant was way overblown, so in the background have almost a wall of capital ships.

heros won't work. probably missing a script. but they'd time out fast. and yes, without their ships, the cis is losing. i may add back dozens of auto turrets. but if i do that, i think i'll rotate the republic ship.
Though its not accurate to the cartoon, how would everyone feel about the cis able to spawn on top of the republic ship?
