Changing the Hud.

Post by Zypher »

I want to know how I can give the sniper class a reticule. Are there any tutorials for this kind of thing?

Welcome to Gametoast. Can you first please explain the reasons why you would want to give the sniper class a reticule?

Because I can't aim. Every time I try no scoping I always miss. I guess I'd be using it for practice. Do you know how I can do it?

Go Into options, Controls, and see if the Reticule Meter is Set to 0; if the Gauge is at the Far Right, Pull it to the Left; if not, this might be an Error caused by Your Sides. see if the Options-Option Works first.

And of course, welcome to Gametoast! :)

Good luck

he is talking about the reticule of sniperrifles in the thirdpersonview. im not sure whether we should really discuss this here since it could be used for cheating in mp(no offence)
you cant really practise noscoping by putting a scope on the sniper...its intuitively knowing where the reticule/middle of the screen is. you can best practise that by no-scoping (obviously) or just using any other weapon with scope until you maybe know where th reticule is.

you could put a peice of tape on the screen where the reticule is for other guns and then use that to snipe :/

also first question i would ask is "do you have modtools and know how to mod?"

(weird that we assume that adding a reticule is cheating, its done in some mods already actually, including some of mine)

Yes, I downloaded the mod tools a while ago and I've tried modding before but I didn't know what to do.

And seriously, if I wanted to cheat I would just put a piece of tape on my screen.

It's a one-off property in the sniper rifle: "ReticuleInAimingOnly = 1"

Setting it to zero (or simply omitting it from the weapon) is sufficient. A good way to get a handle on .odfs like this is to simply munge a side and play around with some of the .odf properties to see what they do. Many of them (like this one) are fairly self-explanatory.
