Should I infinite loop the spawns or add a script to end the mode?

Yes, add a script that will finish the map at some point.

Zombie Apocalypse 2: Deader Than Ever (Upd October 28th pg3)

Post by MetalcoreRancor »

The Zombie Apocalypse 2: Deader Than Ever

Yes, it's back. Yes it's improved. Yes, it's coming to a Star wars battlefront 2 near you.

Without further ado, I'll showcase 4 of the many planned enviroments for this sequal. A couple of notes:
The actual code to spawn zombies has gone through an overhaul so there will always be a zombie spawn. It's a simplistic
system of every 20 seconds a wave comes, and every 90 seconds a special wave of zombies come out.
Each map will have a planned set of weapons, and you will use those weapons the whole map.

It's a map that is within a cavern, based on a slanted ramp hill. You're subjected to wave after wave of zombies from the top coming down.
You'll have to survive long enough for an event trigger that lets you escape to the outside and win.

Very interesting and spooky environments, Rancor. They seem out of this world [of SWBF2]. A little too dark, but I guess that will serve its undead purpose....

Loved the last version! I had a ton of fun running over zombies! I'm concerned about the melee setup of the castle... can zombies still knock you down in that map? It would make defending your self more difficult.

I am planning on setting it so you'll have the bow as primary and can switch to sword, which does have deflection on. As long as you swing you won't be knocked down or harmed by direct melee from zombies. But if you're using your bow, you won't be safe.

Thanks for the all the replies guys! I have a pretty good sized update, all in video form.

[------]
Deathball
[------]

http://www.xfire.com/video/4cf74b/
Update: Showcasing new lighting and the flamethrower turret hazard.

[------]
Castle
[------]

http://www.xfire.com/video/4cf758/

Update: Thanks to Wulfman, I got a function working to make a gate close and open, by shooting switchs. Added some fog effects to windows, and the zombie skeleton outfit for the medieval stage.

[------]
Warehouse
[------]

http://www.xfire.com/video/4cf770/

Update: Brought in the Martyr, revamped. Does more damage and sends you flying even if you're not dead. Combined with the
poison air of the map.. you should shoot these at all costs.

And introducing....

[------]
Cursed Bay (New Enviroment!)
[------]

http://www.xfire.com/video/4cf75f/
A haunted cove covered in water, and ship wreckage. I did most of this work in 5 hours. It's relatively new and is still being worked on.

As some may or may not have noticed, I have borrowed some assets from my other map, Mistborn. But as I update these I will also work on Mistborn. Anyways, hope you guys like these! I'd like some suggestions on how I should approach the Cursed bay if anyone has any ideas, I still don't know how to make it fullfilling.

Cursed Bay v1.1

I'm aware of some of the floaty objects, but yeah this is shaping up to be really cool.

I reworked the pirate ship to loop from one end to the other, gave it flames and added overall better feel to the map.

Some screenshots.

It's looking really good. I loved the first version, even if the music wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I'm looking forward to the final release!

I give no garuantees that the music this time around will be absent of screaming, but I will attempt to find suitable music that won't make peoples ears bleed, haha :P

As I set out to construct the next few areas, I'd like to get an idea of what people would want to see if they could choose an enviroment just for Online multiplay deathmatch mode (Special zombies vs Humans) from a short list I'd think would be cool:
    • A sewer system
    • Something future-istic
    • Urban area (houses, maybe buildings)
    • A type of deathsphere/changing enviroment
    • An attempt at an amusement park
Personally, I'm looking towards the idea of an Amusement park, but I wanted to get some opinions.
See, I once made a Rancor's Amusement Park kind of map where I had roller coasters and rides. I tried to recreate that in the last map but it was a failure. I want to bring it back done better, with a legitimate roller coaster, as well as make it the Deathmatch mode for people to play without waves of zombies.
The other options will probably end up being the remaining enviroments, or may be scrapped.

Sounds cool! I think I like the ideas of the park and a death sphere of sorts.

    Well, semi update.

It's official, the theme for the Deathmatch / online mode is paying homage to Rancor Theme Park.

The actual fighting will happen in a yet to be constructed arena. Other rides will be outside of the arena, available to all to enjoy. I'm still working out the details of this ride, and the coaster model is still WIP. But yeah.. if anyone remembers my theme park map, you'll enjoy this.
