ah ok. thanks heaps for that. i also wanted to ask 2 more things.....i have skinned a unit and put it in the rep folder with the right name and munged the side. this did not work so i added the whole dang side but it didn't work. the file i skinned was rep_inf_ep3_trooper i'm pretty sure. would someone be able to post all the files i would ned in the rep side folder and any others?? i didn't edit the lua at all and am wondering if this would have affected it.....

Re: thanks
It's called rep_inf_ep3trooper.tga, actually, no _ between ep3 and trooper.

Re: thanks
you need to put ReadDataFile(dc:side//rep.lvl)i didn't edit the lua at all
in the .lua the dc is critical

Re: thanks
I had the same thing aswell, and when I changed the .lua, it all worked for me. I'm gonna backup his point, the dc: in the .lua is critical. It needs to be in both, the .lua.bak and the .lua. There are two. Never forget the .bak. I think

Re: thanks
The dc: tells the game to load a side from the "sides" folder in your map instead of the common sides folder. No you do not have to change the .bak, it is just a backup in case you mess up really badly (like I have)

Re: thanks
Tunnels/interiors? You must either reskin an existing model, or model a new one yourself. You can't do it via ZE.

Re: thanks
Also you need to find an entrance model with a mesh cutter to get underground in the first place. I haven't used tunnels yet, though, so I'm just telling you what I've heard from others.

oh thanks for that. my game is not working after i edited the lua. it is coming up with this message:
FATAL Cannot create Direct3D device! Error: 0x8876017c.....
please help because i cannot run swbf2 now. this also happened when i used the modtools runner.
nevermind. it worked when i restarted the computer. and i got the skins working yay!!
sorry for asking all these questions but i unnecessarily added the whole rep side and i was wondering if i could remove that because it takes up about 150mb of my map..

Re: thanks
remove what you don't need from where you put it and then do a clean or a manual clean to get rid of everything else I suppose. There's a tut for that on here, easy to find.
