im using softimage 7.5 modtool on windows vista home premium 64 bit.
my problem is, whenever i press for example open, or save as, where a window appears afterwards, the window doesnt appear, and i cant press buttons anymore. it doesnt crash...
it should appear this: window(modtool 6). if you cklick somewhere out of the window in the middle, you hear a error sound and nothing happens(standard). after pressing File->Open or File->Save As etc... if you click somewere where the red arrows point you hear a error sound and nothing happens(not standard!). like the should-pop-up-window would be 1 pixel big and everywhere is not in the should-pop-up-window.
i know, its bad explained... reinstalling didnt help, whereas the preferences didnt got deleted...

It sounds like the window is actually open but it may be off the screen in the middle of no mans land, are you running a dual monitor setup by any chance?
Has this problem always existed on your machine with Mod Tool 7.5 or did it just start?

You should probably make a topic on the Softimage forums so you can get direct feedback from the software developers.

i have 2 monitors(1280x960 and 1680x1050)and i use ultramon. and the problem exists since may 1st.

I'm not familiar with UltraMon but maybe you should look through it's options to see if anything needs adjusting.
Here's the search results for "file browser" from the Realtime Soft Forum, have a look at them and see if they provide anything useful to you and if all else fails then just use a single monitor setup for Mod Tool 7.5
