First off, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I'm relatively new here and still getting a grip on how things go.
Now, the topic.
I want to add a reskinned Vader's cape to a jedi unit. (The kind of jedi from, say, a Convo Pack "Order 66" mode game, not a hero jedi). I looked around in the imp/msh folder, but only found imp_inf_darthvader.tga, which looked very confusing when opened and seemed to contain all of Vader, not just his cloak.
Alternatively, I could use Count Dooku's cape reskinned to be green (since it looks so similar to Vader's), or (if it's even possible) a Cloaked Anakin's cape (JUST the cape, not the hood - this is important). I looked around for the Dooku's cape's .tga but only found cis_inf_dooku.
Does anyone know where I can find these cape's .tga's?
If they don't exist somehow, are there any released assets of just Vader-style capes that I could reskin? I know there's a MagnaGuard unit released that has a good cape, but I don't know if the cape comes seperately form the unit. Does his cape come seperate?
Thanks for the help!

Yes, I noticed, which isn't a good thing if I want just the cape. I'm asking if there's a separate asset somewhere, player-made or not.

Re: Cape problems
There is no seperate cape, you'll need to take vaders cape or dooku's cape (anakins cape includes his hood). You do know how to get an animated cape onto a model, don't you? The magnaguard unit you referred to uses Dooku's cape.

Re: Cape problems
It doesn't matter where the cape's texture is, in SWBF2 the cloth geometry is a part of the unit's msh, here are your choices:Fiodis wrote:Yes, I noticed, which isn't a good thing if I want just the cape. I'm asking if there's a separate asset somewhere, player-made or not.
1. Attaching a BF1 Cape to a BF2 Character
2. Hex edit cloth from one msh to another
3. Make your own
All of these tutorials are linked to in the FAQ stickies, please don't request new assets here.
Choose wisely and have fun!

Re: Cape problems
I was asking help locating a file, and then if that file didn't exist I'd ask if maybe there was some released asset. I know there's a thread for that, but I thought I could combine the two posts into one and save space.
Anyway, thanks for the links! I already looked at the hex-editing one, got stuck on step 6 or 7 or something like that. I'll take a look at the others, and if I still don't understand them I'll ask for some help.
I'll look into those now and "try to have fun."
