Munging Problem!

Post by Syth »

Okay, got the modtools and I read all the doc crap and started a new map. When I munge it so I can try my map out, it says is was munged, but when I run BFII it crashes. Then when I opened BFII/Gamedata/addon/mylevel/data/_LVL_PC to inspect things THERES NOTHING IT! NADA!:o
When I remove it from addon the game works fine. This is extremely iritating, so any help would be greatly appreciated-

I created a couple other new worlds to see if was the map- but even new, un-modded, default worlds arnt munged right and are missing files. I dont know what the bloody problem is.

Ok Syth I've been through this situation and here's my recommendation unless somebody has a better solution.

You are missing other files like the mission.lvl, common, etc. When you munge, I don't think the 3 letter folder contains those files yet unless you move them.

Way off-topic I know: Are from LucasArts as well?

Are you checking Common when you munge?

So where do I get these files?

Off topic- yes Im from LA

EDIT: I checked common. This what it says after it supposedly "munges"

Common\munge PC
and was unexpected at this time.
Munging addme.lua...done.
Copying files to Battlefront II directory:
"C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData"
Addon dir exists, continuing...
Mod dir "YV4"exists, continuing...
Copying addme.script to mod dir...done
Copying "mission.lvl" to modDir\data\_LVL_PC\...done
Copying "core.lvl" to modDir\data\_LVL_PC\...done
Copying "YV4" to modDir\data\_LVL_PC\...done
Copying "SIDE" to modDir\data\_LVL_PC\...done
Munge process finished

:| Great... now objects arnt appearing. They appear in Zeroedit (I copied both the msh. and odf.'s), but when runing my level in game no objects. Just the terrain changes I made.
I think I have heard of this problem before, but I couldnt find it any where.

ADVISE?

Did you place the object ODFs and MSHs in their respective folders in ***_data/World/***/ODF or MSH?

Yes, I copied the entire ODF and MSH folders from YAV into my worlds folder, I munge my map and everything is there besides objects. Funny enough bases still apear, I did put the MSH's into world.
