Re: Space Bothawui TCW
You can force a unit into a vehicle but why would you want to:
a) Pilot the cruiser. I mean, what exactly would you do? It might be fun for a little bit but -
b) Even if you wanted to - unless you wanted to for the whole battle, or until you died, or commited suicide by getting out of the thing.
c) The vehicle will look absolutely ridiculous just *appearing* in space. When it spawns, *pop*, it'll suddenly be there. Not too realistic.

Re: Space Bothawui TCW
It would be fun, but you couldn't make it look like that. The simple and sad fact is that you can't really make it happen - and make it work well and look good - at the same time. It could be cool but unfortunately the BFII engine can't make it happen as you imagine it. If you can manage to get it working then credits to you; but I don't think that Darth_Spiderpig will use it in his map. Let's not clutter up his topic with suggestions on something that has been declined before. You can post ideas/requests in the Mod/Map Idea Thread or the General Request Thread

You can spawn AT-TEs with an animation. Why not Venators?Well, it just came thanks to a jump from hyperspace
AI barriers anyone? Turrets would probably be easier to do and work better though.Exactly why I want them to be turrets actually.

How do you mean by this?Lagomorphia wrote:You can spawn AT-TEs with an animation. Why not Venators?Well, it just came thanks to a jump from hyperspace
QFT. Are the AT-TE's going to have a custom weapon for the turret?Lagomorphia wrote:Turrets would probably be easier to do and work better though.Exactly why I want them to be turrets actually.

Dragonum's LAAT/c AT-TE drop. Somewhat more complicated than the hyperspace jump he is talkinga bout.sampip wrote:How do you mean by this?Lagomorphia wrote:You can spawn AT-TEs with an animation. Why not Venators?Well, it just came thanks to a jump from hyperspace
Hopefully it will be like the BF1 AT-TE front guns. They really ruined those for BF2.QFT. Are the AT-TE's going to have a custom weapon for the turret?Lagomorphia wrote:Turrets would probably be easier to do and work better though.Exactly why I want them to be turrets actually.

Re: Space Bothawui TCW
I think that is done through ZE animation. The gunship carries the AT-TE and soforth 'drops' the AT-TE which is spawned on drop. You could do something like that for Venators though, and the other thing is that there is no animation for Venators coming out of Hyperspace. It would be a very, very hard effect to produce well.
/On Topic: Me too, the BFII guns were quite hard to control and you also couldn't hit a fighter from 5 metres away with the top turret.

But it's not possible. I'm also wondering why you keep wanting other people to do your ideas when you can just go and download the modtools yourself.Revan-Shan wrote:Well, it just came thanks to a jump from hiperspace. And imagne the laser blasts! It would be amazing.

Re: Space Bothawui TCW
Well, it appears I don't like the ideas, and ergo won't work on them.
On a slightly more on-topic note, I can't get the AT-TE to work as a turret.
So, no updates yet.
And for the future, please don't ask me for moving ships/frigates nor pilotable ones, whatever. Thanks

Re: Space Bothawui TCW
It can definately be done for the top turret. In BF1 there were several crashed LAAT/i gunships and AT-TEs which you could use the turrets on. It was only the top turret though.

What use is only the top turret? It doesn't look that good shooting at Munificents and can't hit fighters to save it's life.

Then it wouldn't fit the heavy turret designation. That and it's the four frontal guns that shoot down the Munificents in the episode.

Well, if you watch again, you'll notice the most fired weapon is the main gun.Lagomorphia wrote:That and it's the four frontal guns that shoot down the Munificents in the episode.
But alright if I have success making it a turret, we'll see what is better ingame for both gameplay and realism.

The front guns sound better too (but only when set up BF1 style). But do what you want. It's your map.

Re: Space Bothawui TCW
We're not here to discuss what is and what's not going in Spiderpig's map, that's his job. I'm sure he's heard enough arguing about so many things that he can decide for himself. Suggestions are fine; but you can't just say it can't look like this/it won't look like this/it won't be good like that. We've spent nearly a page and a half discussing something that most likely isn't going to happen as you suggested. Sorry for being annoying, SpiderpigLagomorphia wrote:Then it wouldn't fit the heavy turret designation. That and it's the four frontal guns that shoot down the Munificents in the episode.
EDIT: Saw your last post, that's fine - I know what you were saying were only suggestions but they sounded more like demands.

Re: Space Bothawui TCW
I'm probably a bit late on the uptake but if you WANTED to make mobile frigates I had a whole huge thread about that on the modding forum and I figure out how to do it. Sorry if its off subject, i'm just saying that it is possible and actually very easy to make mobile frigates W/ guns.
