map size and spawn problem

i made a map 512x512.
the problem is, when i have the Spawnpoints in the middle of the map, they work.
but when i put the Spawnpoints in the edge of this map, i die when i spawn on the map.

is there a problem with the size?
i can only spawn in the middle, not on the edge?
why?

my hoth map is 256x256, there i can spawn on every place on the map and for my new map i changed the size to 512x512.

please help, i have a lot of objects and work in this map, i dont want too make it new again, like the same with my hoth map

I've been experiencing this problem for a while now Dragonum and I've mentioned it in the bfront.log errors post. So far I've discovered no way of fixing it. It seems that regardless of how larger a terrain you create, the game still seems to think its a 256 x 256 size map and it kills you if you try to move outside this area or try to spawn out of the 256 x 256 perimeter.

Spawn at a spawn point near the center of the map and try travelling by foot towards the edge. If im right you should be getting killed and getting errors like this in bfront.log (if your testing it in sptest.exe):

Message Severity: 2

Unit flew out of world, x = -49.810829, z = 1000.037292

I think you'll find if you try travelling any more than 1000 metres from the centre of the map you'll enter limbo. The odd thing is though I've been able to travel as far as I please as long as im in a vehicle or a flyer, but as soon as I get out of it im dead.

Sorry dragonum but it looks to me that we're stuck with battlefields 256 x 256. The only thing i can suggest is to work around the problem if you can.

i cant make a map with the size 512x512 or bigger, where i can walk on the complete mapsize?
so i make a map 512x512 and the only place i can use with soldiers is 256x256?
with vehicles i can use more!?
is there a way to change this, so i can use more place with soldiers?

i tested this only by a map size from 512x512.
i test it by a map size from 1024x1024. maybe this is what i asked in my last post, that i must use a bigger map size, when i want to have more to use on the map.

ok, i put objekts, like mountains for a geonosis map in the editor, and when i add an SP on a geonosian bunker, or i make barriers around the mountains, i saw when i test the map in the game, the mountains are not on the place i put it in the editor, same with the barriers!
is this a problem, with the map size?
or is this another problem with the editor, or failure from me?
i only had this problem on a bigger map than 256x256.

i creat a new terrain after i start the new project, bit i dont close the editor and reopen it, after i changed the map size.

ok now i know to change the map size and close the editor and reopen it.

Just to follow up something fred posted earlier, adding TerrainEnable(0) causes your infantry units to fall through the terrain when they spawn, so you may be able to exploit this in space maps. (sorry, I didn't have time to test with vehicles)

Edit: As fred says in the next post, they do not "fall through" the terrain, there is no terrain. Here I have set up a couple of Eddie's lego blocks as a platform, note there is no terrain between the two blue platforms.
