Re: Adding jetpack to *.msh file

Post by c6dy »

Hi,
I'm trying to make a clone which has got the sniper-karma and a jetpack...I even managed it to get these two to his *.msh, but I'm not able to make different skins of these two (jetpack and karma). I just can manage it to get one skin to work...Is it possible to make different skins of this two, and how can I make this? thanks.

EDIT
Sry for Doublepost, but could someone explain me please how to add the rocketeer texture to the msh? I realized that in the MODL junk of the jetpack is no link to a texture...is there a way to bring these texture in the msh? Would be really kind if so could explain it to me.

You can use the "edit" button to avoid double posts.

And I don't really understand your question. You've added the jetpack and kama to the unit, but they don't have a texture? You're trying to get the unit to have the rocketeer's texture?

What unit are you trying to add this to, anyway?

I want to make an airbone trooper, it's the ep3 sniper with the jetpack...

I did the steps from the karma tutorial, and applied the jetpack MODL, but the pack always has the karma texture

That's because right now, the jetpack doesn't have its MATD chunk in the original mesh (you'll notice that nothing calls for the jetpack's texture). You have to add this, and if you've been able to successfully edit new MODL chunks on, the technique for adding new MATD chunks is similar (although I would still recommend proceeding carefully and with making backups). It is covered in this topic:

Thanks for your help, works fine now (I only have to add the JP texture manual, but I guess thats because of the long name... :) )
