Black objects seen from far way?

In my map, from far away some of my objects appear black, then when close the regain their texture? How do you fix this...

maybe it needs a lowrez texture

Or maybe you shoudl adjust your view settings in your world's sky file.

It's originally for SWBF1, but it can probably be applied to SWBF2 as well.

I'm just going to hop in and say this: You do not want to change the nearscene/farscene view distances by any drastic amount, especially by extending the nearscene to some unreasonable number. That will force the computer running the map to do a lot of unnecessary rendering for details you won't be able to see very well at a distance. As was suggested by someone earlier in the thread, make sure you have the texture being used by the lowrez model, as a solid color like that indicates a missing texture.
