Will reinstalling BF2 fix any of these problems?

im not sure but i had a problem like that to so just try reinstalling. if u reinstal u dont loose your mod and maps.

If your graphic options aren't very high, this is normal.

If you have the 1.3 patch installed, it's possible you disabled them.
-It's not possible to get awards in singleplayer.
You need to have at least 4 medals in the category to get the award. Or if you have more than 64, you have Legendary status and you already have the award.

It's possible a clean reinstall would fix your starfighter problem, but other than that, I need more clarification, such as DO you have your graphic settings low? Do you have the 1.3 patch installed? How many medals in each category do you have/what do you mean by "it's not possible to get them?"

I mean I just can't get award weapons. For example, get 6 kills with a pistol, it tells you you've gotten the Gunslinger award, but I don't get an award pistol.

I thought that the 1.3 patch disabled the rewards

On singleplayer, you need to have "Veteran" status to unlock an award. You get the awards regardless of your medals on multiplayer.

The 1.3 patch only disables the increased defense and damage buffed effects. You know, the annoying bluish and red effects around the player?

The award is only usable after you've earned the medal for it at least four times, as what Twilight_Warrior and fasty have explained. This is also explained in the instructional booklet on page 24. It's a feature, not a bug.
