Files missing from my SWBF2 Mod please help! [Solved]

Post by Tobster »

I have recently downloaded SWBF2 Mod Tools; after watching a few tutorials and how-to's i learnt how to use zeroeditor and visual munge very well, but i had just made a basic map with some platforms, turrets, command posts etc. So then i finished it and went to the Visual Munge Mod Tools in the _build folder. It says that it copied all the files to my addon folder. So i went and looked and they're all there apart from when you go inside the _LVL_PC folder it's empty. All the sides and the things that make the game run are supposed to be in there but there not so i can't play my map in SWBF2. I'm very confused about this issue i'v been searching all across the internet for a answer but can't seem to find one! Does anyone know how to resolve my issue? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Gametoast! You will probably have to copy over the munged .lvl files separately. The files you need are in the list below:

\data_ABC\_LVL_PC\ABC\ABC.lvl - Copy to \addon\ABC\data\_LVL_PC\ABC\
\data_ABC\_LVL_PC\core.lvl - Copy to \addon\ABC\data\_LVL_PC\
\data_ABC\_LVL_PC\mission.lvl - Copy to \addon\ABC\data\_LVL_PC\
\data_ABC\addme\munged\addme.script - Copy to \addon\ABC\

And that should be it.

None of those folders are there. The only ones that are there is:

C:/Star Wars BattleFront II\Modtools\BF2_ModTools\data_AOE\_LVL_pc

FPM
LOAD (Is empty)
MOVIES (Is empty)
SHELL (Is empty)
SIDE
SOUND (Is empty)
YAV (Is empty)

So what do i do? I have visual munged and manually munged but nothing seems to work.

I don't want to sound like I'm doubting you, but are you there is not a folder called "AOE" in your data_AOE/_LVL_PC folder? If there isn't can you tell me how long it takes for you map to munge? If it munges very quickly we may have a problem.

You see i thought this was a problem. It says it's finished munging after like 5-10 seconds. But on all the tutorials i have read and watched they say it should take about 5-10 mins not seconds! SO why is this happening?

In the future you should always check the FAQ, there is 7 years of modding knowledge there, chances are your question may have already been answered. You need to check out the link to the windows7/vista munge fix. it should solve your problem. Good luck!

What does the fix actually do? Replace batchfiles or the actual visual munge. And once i'v installed it will it work correctly and all munge properly (which takes about 10 mins)

I'm pretty sure it just replaces batch files. You will need to make a new map after you run the fix for it to work.

Not really, you can copy just about everything over, but not your world file.

It is also highly recommended that you install this to the default directory as other directory names could cause potential conflicts when building maps.

Spaces in the path can cause problems. The tools should be in this location:
